I want a machine to cut out my own designs from photoshop/illustrator, I'm not interested in any of the library images etc. Can this do this, well?

The company wanted to charge a monthly subscription fee for owners to upload designs, but they received massive complaints from users causing them to rescind their stance and will continue to allow unlimited uploads. As of 3/27/2021, Cricut will continue to allow owners and users to upload unlimited designs in Design Space at no additional cost.

I am looking to get my first Cricut machine. Will the faster speed matter or should I save some money and get the previous version to learn on?

The only difference between the air1 and air2 is the speed of the cut and the color options for the machines. I have the air2 and I honestly haven't even tried the faster cutting option because I've been cutting really delicate things and I was afraid that it would rip the material at a faster speed. I guess this question depends on how much you would use it and for what. I don't, by any means, think the air1 is "slow".

Question 4

Some reviews say after 2 months you have to pay $10 a month to continue using the machine. Is this true? and is this the case for all cricut models?

Their new policy limits users to uploading only 20 images a month without a subscription. Can you imagine buying a printer but only being allowed to print 20 pages without paying more money than you already spent on a printer?! Cricuts direct competitor, the Cameo Silhouette does not have a limit on how many of your own designs and images you can print for free.
