Review: They work!! - Used for my outdoor solar lanterns!! Review: Replacement solar lights are great! - Used this light to replace one that came with a ceramic hanging fixture. The original one stopped working in about a week. The replacement is much brighter & has already lasted longer than the original. Put the 2nd one in a glass jar & it is very pretty. The lights are working great, were extremely easy to order & install & are a reasonable price. So glad I found these & would recommend them to anyone.

So far, so good! [See update...]
I bought these (based on ratings and reviews of this and other replacement lights) to replace the solar lights of favorite lanterns/lights in my yard. As another AZ resident remarked, solar lights don't seem to make it more than a couple of summers here, no matter what you do. I will definitely keep this review updated. I replaced the light in a lovely Native American design terra cotta clay lantern (w/ punch out pattern) and in a clear, wide-mouth type jar that sits in a wrought iron lamp, hanging from a tree limb. The terra cotta lantern shines more brightly than the original light ever did and I'm amazed at how long both lights are lit every evening: at least 7+ hours. Now, the real test is that both of them sit just within the scope of our manual sprinkler. I've checked the batteries (after 6 weeks use) and they are dry as a bone: no sign of rust. I do believe that this is possible because the on/off switch is on the underside of the assembly, so nothing else other than the solar grid (which seems to be well constructed/no open "seams") is on the topside: therefore, no openings to collect water. [I did notice a similar product (though w/ the on/off switch on top) on sale right now for about half the price, and may try them to see if they have the same results in a couple other lights I'd like to replace. However, for now, I would rather pay the price for better quality.] [UPDATE Spring 2022: One of these lights is still working; the other died after about 3 months - maybe due to water exposure. And it is, for the most part, impossible to replace the battery, as it is glued to the base, but not attached to the endpost housing. Even hot-gluing the battery didn't help, because the charging ends become displaced when you replace the back. So, I don't recommend if you're hoping to replace the battery - or if you're expecting lots of water exposure. Oh, well...it's AZ and the heat usually takes its toll. Enjoy while you can...and re-order!]
