Ok
They should provide a source for the battery or provide an adapter. We used the wire and adapter we had at home and we could smell the burning smell from breadboard

Good starter set
Keep the overall price in mind. Local electronics stores might charge 10-15 dollars for a bread board this size. All the extras are nice and do seem to work as intended. The LEDs work, just remember to use the appropriate resistor for your voltage (most likely somewhere in the ballpark of 200-1000 ohms). The โpower supplyโ board is interesting. Its jumpers are marked for either 3.3 or 5 volts. I powered it up using a 5.5 volt power supply, but was only able to get 4.2 and 3.3 volts respectively. The sweet spot appears to be about 6.8-7.5 volt input. Not a big deal, but donโt rely on it for precise applications. Several of the items, including the power supply board, arrived with bent pins. I was able to bend everything back with no lasting effects. The overall quality isnโt great, and if you are an electronics aficionado, this set isnโt for you. For a basic kit at a great price, this is the one.

This is NOT a starter kit for projects. It is a supplementary kit
If you want to start learning about electronics and DIY stuff, this kit is not for that. You may want to look for starter kits that include documentation or tutorials. This kit has many pieces that you may need for additional projects, or to start new projects but you already are using some common pieces like LEDs, resistors or capacitors. For the price, yeah, is what you paid for, but don't expect to start learning with this only. You will want to get other (more expensive?) kits which include some sort of documentation to start with. You need another breadboard? This kit (may be/is) for you. You need few more 100, 1k, 2k, 5k resistors? This kit (may be/is) for you. You need some jumper wires? This kit (may be/is) for you. You need a 3.3v/5v power supply module? This kit (may be/is) for you. Overall, if you want to learn how NOT to blow up LEDs, yeah, this kit is good for you.

Lab playground in a box
Its a mini experimenters lab in a box. The components alone are worth the price of this kit; I had my doubts but wow - The breadboard is just the right size for testing a quick design. I have the larger boards but found this size ideal for getting a quick "patch" or test together. Easily slipped into a little box or stuffed into a chassis where the bigger boards just won't fit. The power regulator board will provide +5 and/or +3.3, ideal for using a USB port for power; the USB cable is NOT included but I have plenty of those things floating around so that it's not a problem for me. I hook up an RC battery most of the time for power when playing around anyway. I have many of these little power boards and they are fantastic. I'm considering these kits for beginners in our robotics club. I'll likely add a few Arduino mini-pro's to round it out. oh, and I think I've paid almost this much for just the bundle of jumpers in the past - ha! An impressive assortment of components in such a tiny box. -- just saying!

This is what you need!
If you are an experimental type DIY builder, this kit is the making more of your builds actually work. Not only that, but I have actually stuck this thing inside a build as the permanent circuit...though I admit it did come loose, so you expect to add some tape or something to help keep your wires in place if you plan to have this breadboard inside your final build. Out of all the random electronic parts kits I have gotten to learn and experiment with, this is the one that most quickly advanced me towards my goal. Honestly, I think this is the first kit to buy, if you are just starting out, because of the way it is enabling and that is encouraging. Just buy this. You won't regret it!
