Comfortable, Great Sound and Quality + Great Price!!
Updated to 5 stars all in all this headset is great and once I got used to it, it was very comfortable. I have decided this headset does everything I need for now so I’m going to wait to order one with a mixer and more features. I’ve gotten used to the mic mute flip feature with more time and now it’s not so strange muting and adjusting volume (note: I normally adjust volume from Xbox mixer settings instead of the volume adjuster on the headset). SUMMARY: I bought the Hyperx Cloud Stinger and at this time I’m giving 4 stars, however it is most likely a 5 Star Headset I just want some time to make sure. So far I I can honestly say this headset is well worth it just keep in mind I’ve only had it for about a week! It’s very comfortable, has great sound, a great price, seems to be working great with Xbox One, and is made with quality! I don’t think you find a headset in this price range that’s better than this one and many say this headset is better than very expensive ones from what I’ve read. I may wind up getting another Hyperx Cloud headset with a Audio mixer and mute button since I’m not sure I’ll get used to moving the mic up and down to mute it as you have to do with the Stinger (I’m used to a mute button by the controller which makes it fast and simple to mute) and I would like to control volume settings without going into my Xbox audio settings or hopefully Xbox makes a simplier option to this and muting. (You don’t need the adapter with this headset for Xbox one if you have the controller with a 3.5mm jack) Long Review (Still updating and pending final product rating): COMFORT: They are very comfortable to me (I am a female and most aren’t comfortable to me and are too big but without this headset adjusted at all it fits pretty comfortably). When it’s adjusted to be larger it fits my boyfriend as well so this is a great headset for either female or male. SOUND: I’m not audio/sound wizard or professional but the sound so far is very good. I’ve mainly played Fortnite br and Destiny 2 with this headset. I’m still messing around with different games to see the difference between different noises and using the volume mixer settings on Xbox One to see what sounds best. On Xbox One I’m able to press the home button, go over to System, and then to Audio to control the headset volume, adjust headset chat mixer, or mic montitoring. This headset does have the slider on the right ear so you are able on XB1 to get all your volume levels setup and then just use the volume slider on the headset ear if it’s to loud or quiet. Now that I have messed around with it a bit more I don’t find the need to go back into the audio settings on Xbox to adjust them, I have left them at a certain level that seems to be working great. However, for me I liked having all those volume control settings next to the controller but again maybe I can get used to it. Last thing is I’m messing around with trying Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos for headphones since I read you can use these features with headphones that don’t have surround sound or do have it and as some say it makes a world of a difference... I’m still testing this out on Xbox One to see if they do make a difference with sound. MIC/PARTY CHAT: Using Xbox party chat is huge and a must for me. I use it to talk to my boyfriend who I play games with from different rooms as well as friends. The first day I got these, I connected to a party chat and instantly he stated it was making a humming or some sort of low pitched noise. He isn’t into tech issues or troubleshooting so this was very hard for me to fix or understand since only he heard this noise. The next day he said he doesn’t hear it at all but I’m still a bit concerned so I’ll be trying to join other people in a party to see if they hear anything not right. Update: it looks like this issue may have went away and was either related to being new, my boyfriends headset, and/or me being in the Xbox insider alpha program. MUTE FEATURE: The other thing that may just be something I have to get used to is the mic mute method on this headset, having to pull the mic up or down is something I feel takes more time than just pressing a mute button like I’m used to but like I said maybe I’ll get used to it. My boyfriend likes the mute method that the Stinger has more than me since he has a habit of putting up his mic even with his mic not having this feature. I think this is just a preference and dependent on if you can get used to it. OVERALL RATING: 9/10 I would recommend this headset to someone. For the price and the quality you get I don’t feel there’s a better headset you’ll find!! I hope my review helps you and if you have any questions leave a comment to this review and I’ll reply ASAP. Note: I would also greatly appreciate it if my review was helpful for you, if you could please click the “was helpful” button below. Thank you :)

So far so good. 🤞
These surprisingly sound great. I don't play multiplayer games anymore, so the mic isn't something i care about. My beats audio earbuds finally stopped working, & i can't afford to make a huge investment in audio equipment currently. I did lots of research, & ended up trying these, since the cost/quality ratio was among the best of the lower tier audio options. I wanted ear buds, but was skeptical of the bass on any of the less expensive options, so i decided to go with an over the ear option. My last over the ear headset was a Sony Gold headset, & although originally they were great, they tore up relatively fast. The black protein covering that touches your ear started peeling off gradually, then 1 of the ears started losing sound, & i just had a bad overall experience when compared with in ear earbuds. The latter noise cancel MUCH better, & lasted way longer (6 years vs 1.5 years, or so). The only reason the earbuds don't work anymore is because of the cord. The earbuds themselves are still great, but i didn't have the time or patience to try & fix that myself. The fact these have a cord is a negative, because that's usually what will break before anything else in something like this, even though i try to be extremely careful with how it bends. I don't game nearly as much as i did when i had the Sony golds, so i hope that plays a factor in how long these last before the protein material starts peeling off, etc. i also will clean them off after each use, in case oils from my face, or maybe sweat sometimes, is what eventually destroyed my only other over ear headphones. Sony Gold are my only point of comparison in over ear headphones, but these sound just as good as those did in 2018 or so, from my memory. Sadly, those were only for PlayStation, & these will work on all of my consoles, which is a huge advantage over those. These also come with 2 years of DTS headphones X license, which makes a game like Cyberpunk 2077 sound MUCH better than even the free windows sonic option. I am definitely satisfied with the sound quality of these. They fit my smallish head well. The bass, mids & highs are all pretty good (not audiophile quality, which anyone looking at these already knows, since nothing sub $150 would be expected to have that type of quality), so for gaming audio, especially 3D spatial sound, these are great. The noise cancelling is decent, but not great, so if you play somewhere that's noisy, I'd probably get earbuds of some sort, or a more expensive option. I also should mention that I got these in a Black Friday sale, so that also plays into my calculations as far as price to quality ratio. I didn't compare retail prices to others of the same retail price, & only compared to others in the same ballpark (sub $50, like cloud x, stinger 2, steel series [arctis prime & less expensive ], lucid sound ls35x, Logitech G432, turtle beach, & the cheapest unknown Chinese named brands that will populate the "recommended" options when you look at any headphones on Amazon), because these were all on sale for a similar price, but i didn't pay attention to the MSRP. For the price, I'm definitely satisfied, but the only thing I'm unsure about is how long they will hold up with moderate use (4-5 hours a day, max). If they last 2+ years, i will be surprised & impressed. I will try to remember to update my review when they start having problems in that regard, or when it's time to search for new ones. Until then, I'm happy with my purchase & definitely recommend for gaming audio. I do wish there was an option to remove the mic, because to mute it you have to move it up, parallel with the part that goes over the head. I don't use it at all, & I always have it up. In this position it will fall down a little with any head movement. My peripheral vision can see the mic in this case, which bothers me occasionally (because in the original position, before it falls, i can't see the mic at all). I wish i could just remove the mic, but i realize I'm in the vast super-minority, so i can't really blame against designer for not adding a removal option since it's the least expensive option they made. I can blame them for it not staying in position, & falling down some, but it's something i will get used to, I'm sure, & is just a pet peeve. Others probably wouldn't even notice something like this, because it's not a huge distance that it falls, maybe 1 to 2 inches or so.

A Good Entry Level Headset
This is exclusively a PC review, so keep that in mind. Your mileage may vary depending on your console. That said, most of this will hold true regardless of platform. This is the first Hyper X product I've owned, and I've got to say I'm very impressed. Even at this price point, the sound quality beats out much more expensive Logitech headsets I've bought in the past. These aren't ANC headphones, so there will be some audio bleed from the outside world, though at higher volumes this issue rapidly dissipates. Bass is on the heavier side, as it is with most gaming headsets, while mids and highs are well represented and not over saturated. I don't use the mic much for anything (online gaming tends to be pretty toxic) but in the minor tests I've done with it, it sounds OK; it's not good, but it's not bad. I did however have an issue where the mic was extremely quiet, even at 30+db boost. I suspect this a Windows issue, but I could never figure out how to resolve it. I didn't test it on my PS4, but I assume from watching other reviews that its a serviceable, if unimpressive mic. Having to flip the mic boom up and down to mute yourself will become a little annoying, however, as there are no in-line controls for this beyond a volume slider on the right ear cup. Knocking off a star for both the PC mic issues as the muting mechanism. There is a DTS Headphone X two-year trial that comes with it and I strongly encourage folks to use it; it changes the sound stage of these headphones in a stellar way and everything from music, to movies, to games sounds better and has better positional audio. It's stupid that DTS X is a licensed program rather than a buy once and be done like Dolby Atmos, but that's not Kingston's fault. For PC users, the extension cable is garbage. Either I got a faulty unit, or they just plain aren't good. When plugging in the headset to the extension cable, my volume drops dramatically and there appears to be a faulty connection between the cable and the 3.5mm jack on the headset itself, as if the connection isn't strong enough. I've fiddled with the wires and can't see anything specifically wrong. When plugging the headset directly into my front audio jack, everything sounds fantastic and DTS works as it should. There is a small chance that this could be a motherboard driver issue on my end, however, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm not taking a star off for this as I very rarely, if ever, will use the mic; however, for other PC users that use one frequently, you might want to consider either a different headset, or, the better option, buying a standalone mic (headset mics are often subpar, no matter what the price point). Finally, this thing is lightweight, but not cheap feeling. It's all plastic construction minus the metal sliders, but it's very lightweight to the point of almost being unnoticeable on your head, even during long sessions. The memory foam ear cups are good, though the pleather exterior will heat up after a while and you may need to give your ears a cool off. This kind of cheap material is expected at this price point, but it still grates. Overall, they Hyper X Cloud Stinger is a great entry level headset for $50. At the $30 I got it on sale for, and the price that it is at the time of writing this, it's an absolute steal and there's nothing else at all in that range that will even come close to this.

Great value for the 50 dollar range headsets
FIrst off, this is a great value for the money, its hands-down a very solid headset. I have some audiophile headsets and high end wired and wireless headsets, so I have been running the Stinger's through some gaming and music to compare. I purchased these because we have the Cloud I's and the Cloud II's in our home and I have had them for several years and they still look like new, so I knew that it would be comfortable and the sound signature would be tuned fairly well. These are a little more bass heavy in a standard gaming setup w/o a amp or Astro mixamp. The lows are very good, mids are decent, and the highs are good. Basically, the 53mm drives from the Clouds have been placed in these as 50 mm drivers because the only thing i can tell on audible testing is that the mids are clearer on my Cloud II's for gaming and music. If you use a mixamp then that is when you will not be able to tell the difference between Cloud I's or II's. I use these with a mixamp TR and they are very comfortable. I have large ears and these completely cover them while also providing decent noise cancellation. Something of note here regarding the noise cancellation, it is passive and is not as good as the Cloud II's, but I feel that the Cloud I and the II clamp down a little hard on my head and the Stingers do not clamp down. The memory foam ear pads and the lightweight frame make this a headset you will hardly notice. The build quality seems very good and as for the mic, it works fine and I have had no issues for this week of use. I would sum it up as 50 bucks well spent if you are on a budget or just looking for a comfortable headset because the Stinger's are both of those. Now a few drawbacks I see about the headset from my perspective. The mic stays attached the entire time, so that may be a negative to some. Also no built in mic monitoring that I can tell in my mic testing I have done so far. On XB1 you can setup mic monitoring within the accesories app with a newer controller model with a 3.5 mm jack and place it to an acceptable range. On PS4 testing it is pretty much no mic monitoring, but for 50 bucks I will say that everything all works with no glaring issues and again it is mixamp friendly which is super attractive. I would definitely take these over my A40 TR's just on the fact of comfort alone, not to mention the price. I hope that Kingston ultimately takes this exact Stinger build and makes it into a Stinger II with some higher level build quality and even wireless, that would be the best gaming headset around. TLDR; The Stinger is a super comfy, mixamp friendly headset that sounds really close to its big brother the Cloud I and II's. Your going to be hard pressed to spend 50 bucks and find a better headset. I have compared many more expensive headsets to these and sound and comfort wise, these are right there with those headsets. If my review of the Kingston HyperX Cloud Stinger has helped you make a decision about purchasing please give me a postive rating.

Great clarity, durability, and comfort, but decent noise cancellation.
I've used this headset for a couple months by now and it has some pretty great advantages over your other basic headset, I am a person who drops things every second and these have been dropped, stepped one, sat on (hey I didn't see it okay?) and this has not had a single crack. Now compared to my previous headset (Logitech G230) this is very lightweight but not in the sense of cheapness, it really has memory foam-not that fake memory foam but the real type, I would sleep on it if I could, and the great part is it would survive. Now the Mic is really good, I can not use the Mic on the Desktop I use as my daily driver but that's my desktop's issue, and when I have used it on my laptop it comes out with clean sound, BTW the flip up to mute is a great feature. The volume slider is good but feels a little cheap to be honest it, but it's in a good position, and I have 3 softwares to control volume. I really don't need speakers now, these headphones once you crank up the volume can quite literally be used as stereo speakers. I am also in love with the clarity, while it doesn't punch that much bass as a Logitech G230 it packs enough and I don't use it for music anyways, this is mostly used for Zoom meetings (ah, yes, treacherous Zoom calls) and I really need to hear people voices as clearly as I can and this is a great headset for clarity. It is so lightweight and comfy, I sometimes try to walk off without even taking off the headset, and here we come to our issues, the plug always comes off, not because the jack is weak but because the cable is a little short, the cable is rubber-is easily bendable-and is strong- but it's roughly 3 feet in length, I know some of you will be like 3 feet! That's nothing to complain about, yes it might not be for you but for me whenever I lean back in my chair it get's somewhat taut and occasionally unplugs itself, this isn't much of an issue but I would recommend HyperX to perhaps add 4-5 inches more to the cable, the one other issue is that I am in a room where someone else takes zoom calls as well, and someone else team calls in another room so noise cancellation is fairly important, and this isn't the best at noise cancellation I would say, I can still hear someone else but with a 15-ish percent sound reduction. I recommend this. Pros: Great durability, clarity, mic, and comfort. Cons: You also have a short cable (hey extenders go for $5) and meh noise cancellation (can be fixed if no one else is in your room).

Nice looking headset, but it feels a little fragile.
Pros ---- - The earpads are very soft and comfortable to wear on the ears. - The headset has a nice, sleek, and unoffensive appearance. - The swiveling mute mic function is very interesting and surprisingly intuitive and more natural than pressing a button. - The headset volume slider adds another level of control for quick volume adjustment. - Doesn’t feel bulky or heavy on my head. I don’t feel fatigued from the weight of the headset. Cons ---- - The swivelling joints on the earpads feel a little fragile. This scares me because if these joints break off, there goes the functionality of the headset. - The microphone doesn’t feel as sensitive as other headset mics I’ve had in the past. I have to speak up a little louder to have my voice picked up. It's decent, but not the best. - When the microphone is moved between the mute and the un-mute position, it makes a very loud “click” that sounds like the headset is breaking. It makes me nervous every time I move that microphone piece. - I feel like a mute button would have been a little bit more practical and durable than having it controlled by a flimsy turning switch hooked up to the microphone. - I’ve heard better noise cancelling from other headsets personally, but it does the job. Conclusion ----- It’s a good headset for the price, but you might want to find something a bit more durable if you don’t want to shop for another one for a while. Durability is the main reason why I'm hesitant on recommending this headset to other people. I haven't had it for that long but I suspect that things will start failing in a month or two. I’m not 100% confident that this product will last for a year (unlike other headsets I have purchased in the past) so if you buy it, just expect it to act as a quick replacement for a couple of months.

Amazing For The price
I've had these for about a month now and I think I can safely say they were well worth the money. I did my research on them and heard that the mic wasn't very good, but it has about as good quality as my recording mic. The only issue is the noise cancellation isn't perfect, but it's more than good enough to work with; as long as I keep the volume of things reasonably low while talking to people, they don't hear an echo, and it suppresses most background noise just fine. The headphones themselves are reasonably comfortable, even over long usage, and especially for the price. I've only had one other headset before, but these are certainly more comfortable and adaptable. As for the sound quality, it's great. I was disappointed it couldn't get a bit louder, but that's probably best, both for the headphones and my ears. Beyond volume though, the quality is great. Bass is a little light but that's not necessarily a bad thing. But perhaps most importantly, they seem durable and have yet to show any signs of damage. They aren't just made of cheap plastic, which I think is what really helps them stand out from other cheap headsets. Instead of putting most of the budget into flashy lights, they put it into actually making a good, sturdy headset. In conclusion, they aren't perfect but I never expected something in this price range to be anywhere close to this good. I'd have to say I am more than satisfied with my purchase. I'm sure you can get something a bit better if you're willing to shell out a few hundred bucks, but if you're looking for something reasonably priced that's worth buying, definitely consider these.

Great headset at an excellent price.
I didn't receive this headset for my review or anything, although I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to send me stuff to review. I purchased this outright without any compensation. After going from a
