Plexiglass, something like in some picture frames. I guess you could cut for use as a template.

Are these heat resistant? I need to replace the slip in cover for the light box in the hood over the stove. The bulb might generate too much heat

These are thin and would sag/melt with an incandescent bulb. Best would be to find some single strength (3/32" or 0.094") glass

can it be printed with a laser home printer?

It’s not at all flexible, and is Plexiglass the thickness as described, so no, I don’t think you could put it through any kind of printer
