This is my second purchase of a Seagate One Touch external HDD. First one was a 2 TB version which I bought 2 years back. Considering the storage price steadily increasing I decided to buy another one. But this time I went with 4TB because 2 TB was costing ~ 9k and 4TB ~ 12.5k. 4TB made a lot of sense. I did not care about the colour. Just went ahead with the one I was getting a bank discount. Seagate hard drives are reliable. For me they have always worked well and worked better than other brands. One Touch version costs slightly more but it comes with password protection which is an added advantage. In summary, though price has steadily increased, but I still feel buying this 4TB version of external HDD makes a lot of sense and I am totallu satisfied with this purcahse. Just a closing note. If you are buying this one or the 2TB version, please get a quality case like the "Aircase" which is also available on Amazon. I bought a 2nd Aircase for this 4TB HDD and it fitted perfectly. The case is quality made and rugged. Just search for "Aircase external HDD case" and you should be able to find it.

While moving my initial collection of several terabytes, it did feel slow, but that's just the nature of moving large amounts of data. Using a benchmark tool, I confirmed the sequential speeds are running right around 128 MB/s, which is actually very fast for a portable mechanical hard drive (HDD) and significantly better than older external drives I've used. Initially, I experienced some indecision between Western Digital (WD) and Seagate. After reviewing numerous testimonials, I ultimately decided to purchase this product.This external hard drive stands out as one of the finest I have encountered. It offers exceptional affordability, a compact design, and a lightweight build, making it highly portable. Regarding performance, I conducted tests on both sequential and random read/write speeds. The results consistently demonstrated impressive speeds across all my evaluations. I will include screenshots to assist others in their purchasing decisions. I plan to provide further updates after daily use, but my initial impressions of its aesthetics, tactile quality, and performance are overwhelmingly positive. When transferring large files, such as movies and videos, I observed speeds ranging from 130 to 145 MB/s. For smaller files, like a substantial collection of photos, speeds were between 70 and 85 MB/s, which I consider remarkably efficient. There is another model, the Ultra Touch, which I found to offer comparable speeds; the primary distinction lies in the inclusion of a USB-C port. If a USB-C port is a priority, that model might be more suitable; otherwise, this particular model represents superior value for money. I personally utilize a USB-A to USB-C converter for transferring content from my mobile device.
