DS-P-408 4x8 Digital Signal Processor

I've heard that a few people have had unwanted noise issues with this unit. Personally I've had no noise problems at all. That said I put a ferrite choke on the ground approximately 3" from the dsp and I'm using audioquest tower rca's 2'. So far I'm very impressed with this dsp! The software for windows is a breeze to set up. Atm I'm using it with Focal access 2way passive and in the near future will be running 3way active again with the Focal 165AS 3.

Ik gebruik deze DSP voor een 3 weg aktief open baffle luidsprekersysteem voor in huis. Het configureren is erg simpel als je al wat thuis bent in het werken met filters. Het ruisprobleem waar ik hier en daar iets over lees valt in de praktijk erg mee. Ik heb 3 x de fosi ZA3 waarvan ik de volumeknop iets terugdraai om de ruis uit de DSP te verminderen, en heb er nu geen last meer van.Het valt op als je luidsprekers een hoog rendement hebben.Verder wil ik wel waarschuwen omdat Amazon,de verkeerde adapter voor de europese markt erbij doet, de ingangsspanning van 240V is prima maar het is de amerikaanse uitvoering dus die met platte kontakten !!!!! Ik heb daar melding over gemaakt,maar dat wordt niet begrepen. Ik heb alles teruggestuurd en kreeg 2 dagen later een andere DSP met…..weer dezelfde verkeerde adapter.Gelukkig had ik zelf nog een adapter liggen van 12V. De bijgeleverde adapter is 12V 1,5 A.Omdat ik graag de bijgeleverde adapter wil gebruiken,heb ik nu een US naar EU adapter besteld. Voor de DSP geef ik 5 sterren, zeker gezien de prijs, dit ook voor de service van Amazon,maar helaas heeft het niets geholpen !!! Ik heb mijn best gedaan door een mailje te sturen van het probleem. Veel succes als je hem ook besteld,bekijk eerst de adapter, het terugsturen is zinloos !!! Koop de US-EU omzetter……

Firstly, no ground loop issues as other reviews have mentioned, if humming, engine whine or buzzing is an issue then the installation really needs to be investigated, most likely caused by poor or inadequate ground connections. Used this to replace a faulty Bit10. Have to say I prefer it, easy to install and the software is quite good, if you know what you're doing then it's quite quick to get it all up and running. Only downside is the availability of the remote control which is an optional item....would like to see it included as can't find one anywhere.

Needed to boost up the low end of my car subwoofer. Without it my sub just made the bass louder and a little less defined, with it i can set a very low crossover for my sub, lower than my amplifier or head unit allowed for, and eq boost at 23hz. System has the depth and balance i want now. Will probably add a 4 channel amplifier and really dial in the sound of the rest of the system later. The matrix signal mixing system could be confusing, but it's legit. Lots of flexible possibilities! One thought I had for a car setup you could create from just left and right input; you could create active 3-way front left and right speakers using 6 of the output, down-mix to mono for a single channel rear-fill, and down-mix a sub-woofer channel as well! Awesome! Another great feature, the DSP-408 let's you group output channels so you can apply equalization and filters in unison, a feature i wish Mini-DSP had! Very happy with the unit. Pros: Cool signal mixing system! 6 band parametric equalization per output channel. 6db/12db/18db/24db selectable high-pass and low-pass filters for each channel. Strong 3.5 volt RMS Output. Smart phone configuration with Bluetooth accessory. Good build quality (some sharpish edges on aluminum engraved logo) No turn off noise or POP! Low Price! Cons: Some slight turn-on noise.
