Great for windy NM gazebo, RV mats, and awnings!
So, we wanted a gazebo for out little yard outside our RV. BUT we live in a windy area of NM, so we knew some adapting would be needed. We decided on these weights rather than the ones that came with because these were heavier and looked better made. We've had for a few months and they are doing great with DAILY use! We've had multiple storms and they don't budge an inch and the linings have held up wonderful. We put up the gazebo and pull down daily to prevent rips in the canvas or flying and take these on and off twice a day and they are still doing great. We do have ground stakes which I heard about in the reviews of the gazebo. We got the screw in ones that you use a drill for. I can't recommend the combo enough. We used just the weights until the screws came, and they were pretty good but we did get some movement. With the combo though the frame doesn't budge a bit. And we've had up to 50 mph winds with them. Great buy!

Holds Down The Fort
We have been using a shade tent at Reddington Beach, FL for years. When we do, wind is unpredictale. There may be no wind at 2pm, but then high gusts an hour later. We have used tent stakes (included with tent), dog stakes (screw into ground and attach leash) and plastic grocery bags filled with sand. None compare to these weight bags. This year (2018) we had 3 shade tents set up side by side. One was anchored by the included stakes, another used dog stakes. Our (10x10) was held by 4 Eurmax Weight Bags 3/4 filled with sand. We attached one bag to each tent leg (4). My guess is that 3/4 filled they were 30 pounds each (we bought the small version bag. The large one could be filled heavier.) We were at the beach 4 days. Each day, at some point, the wind picked up. Our tent stood like a fortress. The canvas canopy was flapping, but the tent held firm. Not so with the 2 other tents. The one with the included stakes began to lift off the sand and had to be held down. They folded it and put it away. The dog stake tent also started to lift and the dog stakes were replaced by sand filled grocery bags. It then held, but still moved. Four people sat at the tent legs and held on to them to add weight. Our tent? It was a rock. No wind lift. Another plus: We filled the bags the first day and did not empty them. At the end of the day I carried them to the room and put them in the closet. Ready for the next day. Emptied them when we left. The other tents? The included stake tent did not come back out (back in the car). The dog stake tent used the plastic grocery bags. They split if carried, so they had to be replaced daily. Plus, no way to make them heavy. Bottom line: The bags are excellent. Well made and heavy. They hold down the fort. One More Plus: Like I said, no need to empty them. Keep them filled all week. At dayโs end, carry all four back to your room at one time. 120 pounds of sand. Itโs a nice little workout and you may impress wife, which makes for a happy life.๐

Eurmax USA sand bags for pop up canopy
These sand bags worked perfect to hold my new gazebo in place. Till we could get someone to anchor it down to the ground. Well made, will save in case of an emergency.

Great, except for one thing--
I purchased these weight bags to substitute for smaller weight bags that came with my 10' x 20' Quictent car port. These bags are about twice as large as the ones that came with the carport. We have had some big winds in recent times, so I just want to be a little bit safer. The 4 weight bags each have 2 compartments to be filled with sand or pea gravel. I live near a sandy beach, and have access to plenty of sand. But, the beach access requires going up/down a very long stairway ( 4-5 stories). So, I figured it would be easier to use pea gravel from a home center. The 4 weight bags were filled completely using 2 whole bags of pea gravel (0.5 cf each bag). This is the standard bag sold in home centers. I paid $3.50/bag. Since it is not sold by weight, no weight is given on the bag. But, in general, each bag of 0.5 cf of pea gravel weighs 50 lbs. So, each weight bag when filled with pea gravel will weigh 25 lbs. The bags are very sturdy, easy to fill, easy to close at top with Velcro seal (and, I slightly turned the edge over to keep water from entering). The one thing that I disliked (and therefor downgraded by 1 star) is the fact that the bottom loop of the bag is supposed to slide onto whatever pole you are using. The top loop slides on perfectly. The bottom loop is much smaller, and will not slip onto any normal pole that is used for a shelter or car port. I don't know if this was on-purpose, or if it was a manufacturing defect. But, it is a clear failure that the bottom loop cannot be attached to the pole. But, I think the top loop plus the Velcro middle band should be adequate for staying in place. I simply don't understand why the bottom loop is such a failure.

Durable
Iโm finally ready to replace these. According to Amazon, itโs been nearly seven years. I think thatโs incredible, especially for the price. Iโm the cause of their failure - theyโve been left out in the California sun, used as wheel chocks for my trailer, thrown, dropped, and generally abused. Call it five or six years before they started leaking, now seven to where they need replacement. I filled them with pea gravel and they worked great. They do slump a little when you stand them on end to secure a canopy leg, thatโs the downside of the single Velcro strap. But theyโre easy to carry and quick to set up. Recommended.

Great Way to Enhance the Stability and Security of Your Canopy
The design of these weights allows for easy filling with sand, providing extra stability and support for my canopy. I've used them on several occasions during breezy weather, and they have significantly improved the overall stability of my canopy. The durable construction and reliable performance of these weights have given me peace of mind and boosted the safety of my outdoor events. I no longer have to worry about my canopy getting caught by a sudden gust of wind. I highly recommend these weights to anyone looking to enhance the stability and security of their canopy setup. They are an excellent investment for ensuring your canopy stays in place during blustery weather.

Well sewn but does not have weight capacity advertised... Inexpensive and does do some things well depending upon your needs.
WANTED to LOVE THESE but.... They claim 30-35-lb capacity but they actually only hold 23.3-lbs to 23.6-lbs of sand at maximum capacity per bag. I would not have ordered these and would have ordered other larger capacity bags if it was accurately advertised. These do not hold enough weight for the legs of my 13' x 13' popup which was their purpose. I will likely use them to hold a tarp over a boat now that I have them filled rather than return them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- PROs ----- + Inexpensive ($17 to $18 at time I purchesed set of 4) + good quality (well sewn and handles are well placed for transporting) ----- CONs ----- - no clip or way for top to form a loop around the pole (leads to leaning of top of bag) and in my opinion, stress on the bag - Innaccurate weight capacity advertised (tried rock, tried sand, etc... Rock is too bulky to reach the weight in these pockets and pockets are too small to fit enough sand to meet 30 to 35-lbs) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you need 23-lbs per weight bag per leg, these might be an option but beware of limitations not indicated in description. Note, there are other brands with fold over lip like this that ALSO have a plastic clip to form a loop around the leg. They are currently within pennies of this one. Also, they have a stake grommet in the bottom tab that this one does not. If you are looking for a permanent install (semi-permanent anyway), use the disk weights as I do not believe these will hold up to direct sun day in day out. That is a particularly important issue here in Florida if that is your purpose. It wasn't mine but I noticed others asked this question. SUGGESTION: For filling, I would fill a ziploc 2/3 to 3/4 capacity for sand and purge air before zipping. THEN put that bag (ziplock side in first) into a second bag before purging air and zipping. You are creating a weight back that does not absorb rain water while also achieving max fill in both sleeves of each bag. It keeps distribution more even and makes it less likely to leak sand during transport or storage.

Versatile and very well made
I filled these bags with 3/4 clean gravel to stabilize a patio table being used with a large umbrella. Worked perfectly and I love that they are portable and versatile. The velcro closure is excellent and the carrying loop is very strong. These are made very, very well.

Misleading photos. Top to bottom webbing handle missing.
The product photos show a piece of webbing stitched from top to bottom that appears to be designed to be a handle to make it easier to carry these bags when they are full of sand. This does not exist on what I was sent.

need your own sand
I have bags of sand on hand for another project, perfect to fill these weight bags for my pop up gazebo. I have just put it up but I'm sure they will be fine, nice and sturdy fabric with Velcro closings..
