It works great! I used it to remotely control a light/ceiling fan combination in my living room. The house is not wired for separate control of those things. I damaged my sense of balance from a fall and I'm not able to climb a ladder to install a device designed specifically designed for this purpose. I installed the receiver inside the electrical box in place of the wall switch. I stuck the transmitter onto a plastic "blank" cover plate mounted where the original switch was. I use that for local control and I paired a second transmitter for remote control. Pairing is extremely easy and you can control a device with multiple transmitters or multiple receivers. It works well in spite of the fact that the box is metal. I put a 3M thrust bumper on the receiver near the on/off/pair button to keep it from being accidentally pushed by the cover plate. You can of course pull the remote off the cover plate to use it remotely if you like, because I used 3M Command Strips which are similar to Velcro to mount the remote control onto the cover plate. EDIT 1: I bought another pair of these to use in my bedroom but the receiver would not work as well as the one in the living room. I tried all of my transmitters, since the receiver is very easy to pair to different transmitters. The electrical box in my living room is metal, but the one in my bedroom is plastic. I also tried all three of the extra receivers I had, with no improvement. EDIT 2: It turned out to be a "ground loop" issue. The thing has two " Neutral" wires connected together inside the receiver. Cut one of them off. Do not connect both of them to the same point. At this high frequency, the signal from the remote causes 433 MHz current to circulate through the two ground wires, producing a "ghost" signal out of phase with the original signal from the remote, cancelling some of it out, causing unreliable operation. The metal electrical box of the one in the living room prevented the ground loop from causing a problem. In the bedroom unit, fixing the ground loop helped, but it did not completely fix the problem. EDIT 3: Multi-path interference. The first setup I did in my living room was perfect in every way, but I had a lot of trouble with the second setup in my bedroom. Now it's also working perfectly. While I believe that the ground loop was part of my problem, I believe multi-path interference was also part of my problem. The problem is that the house wiring was picking up some of the signal from the transmitter and re-radiating it into the receiver along with that directly from the transmitter and out of phase with it, canceling some of the signal out. This phase difference changes as the transmitter is moved around in the room. The system would work perfectly from the other end of my house because the wiring in my bedroom was not picking up and re-radiating the interfering signal. The solution was this: I lined the plastic electrical box in the bedroom with aluminum foil to simulate the metal electrical box that was shorting out the interference in the living room box. The system is well designed, but it transmits a complex signal at a high data rate which makes it sensitive to things like multi-path interference. The older remote light controls, while also operating at 433 MHz, transmitted at a much lower data rate, making it much more forgiving of interference. The self contained units that plug into the wall probably deal with this in the PC board layout. CONCLUSION: Cut off one of the neutral wires and if the electrical box is not metal, line it with aluminum foil.

This remote light switch is a very practical solution when you need to add a wall switch in a location where running new electrical wiring would be difficult or inconvenient. The installation is straightforward, and the wireless switch provides convenient control without having to open walls or run additional switch wiring. I purchased the switch with 2 wiring harnesses and 2 switch with screw in receiver. I’m a licensed master electrician and have used a lot of different electrical products over the years but this by far is one of the best. Typically the part you dread is the programming but don’t worry about it with this product. Number one as I told you I purchased 3 different kits 2 screw in receiver with switch and 1 kit with 2 wired receivers and a switch. Each kit comes preprogrammed so the screw in self explained with switch there is no wiring at all with this kit it’s plug and play. The other 2 kits I have one screw in and one with 2 wired harnesses. This required reprogramming the screw in receiver which is the easiest programming ever. On the screw in there’s a button on it with power on press the button and the indicator light flashes continue holding button in for approximately 6 seconds and when blinking speeds up release button the old code is now erased. To program push the button and as soon as light begins flashing approximately 3 seconds release button and press the light switch on and then off the lights should light right away I programmed mine with 0 problems. Finally a product that I’m not swearing at the entire programming phase. I would say any DYI people out there no problem with installation other folks the screw in any one should be able to handle the wired ones are also very easy but some people aren’t comfortable with electrical work in this case consult an electrician. Take a minute read instructions and install you’ll be amazed at how easy it is. One lad note to the engineers and designers of this product my hats off to you I normally don’t have nice things to say about the design and build team because they tend to complicate and over engineer products this WAS PERFECT in my opinion I would shake everyone of your hands you truly deserve recognition for this project.

The switches were very unreliable, I might have to click 5 times to even have a chance of turning on the light. Turning it off was reliable for some reason. I discovered accidentally that reprogramming the receiver completely fixed the problem. I had considered replacing batteries, keeping the switches close to the light, downsizing the light (rf interference), and returning the unit before discovering the fix. It is extremely easy to reprogram, just a couple of button clicks.

This is the easiest upgrade you can make to that old hall light with the pull chain and glass globe that catches bugs. I got a low profile light and wired this bad boy in myself when I swapped it out. Hardest part was fitting the wire caps into the space since my light choice had a short wire on it. Just had to stand on a high step to see it for peace of mind everything was connected. Mounted the switch to the frame of the closet the light is most used for. Looks fabulous and works perfectly. Best price for the huge update and ease of use. Easily connected to the fixture and the perfect fit. Sure would work as a mobile remote control but I love it mounted where it's needed most.

Doesn't work. I wired it in correctly (black to hot and white to neutral on the light side, red to hot and blue to natural on the power input side, ground to the light), the tab is out of the remote. I figured, maybe it's not pre-programmed (because some units may not be according to the instructions), so I followed the steps to program the transmitter, however no matter how long I hold down the program button (3 or 6 seconds) the light will not flash on the transmitter. I got my test light to ensure that the transmitter is receiving power, it is. My input voltage is 120AC, 60Hz and my light is less than 200W led. This product simply doesn't work and I'm returning it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Device works perfectly as described. If you understand the wiring scheme of a switch then hooking this up shouldn't be an issue. This can easily be wired into existing electrical system, and is a good size to fit into your average standard switch box, assuming it doesn't have a bunch of passthrough splices or separate feeds insixe of it. I personally used this in my RV to let me control the overhead lights at will, as A) the only switch is in an annoying location, and B) my lights and thus the switch are 24vdc so as to run off battery backup. I used this device to energize a wafer relay I also installed with the N/O set run in parallel with my rocker switch. Works like a champ. The only thing I'd suggest one keeps in mind is that having your typical light circuit run via a device that uses batteries, especilly non-standards, introduces a potential for issues. For example, in my case due to how I wanted it wired, if the lights were on and the batteries died in the repote, the lights could not be turned off with the physical rocker switch as they are in parallel. Naturally, tripping the circuit breaker would reset the relay back to off and allow the rocker to then work as normal, but that's not something a layperson who doesn't spend their days thinking about electrical circuitry would know about / consider. This device is just an example of something where you could install it 100% up correctly and yet potentially create issues -- or, rather, nuanced operation in things that are otherwise typically completely idiot-proof. So be clear -- this thing is absolutely amazing and totally ideal for cheap, easy circuit control. I'm definitely gonna get a few more for some other projects I have. I just personally would be quite warry about trying to install them for others, professionally or otherwise. Late night calls about how you did shoddy electrical work because their lights won't turn onn/off are to be avoided. Speaking from experience, the fact that it's actuallh a dead battery or lost remote rather than your work isn't much solace at the point you've already woken up from a dead sleep to answer your phone!

it works; but it wants to only turn on one light right away, have to keep hitting the switch to get the other light on. Both will turn off as they should together. Installation was easy, and programming was easy, but have to be installed to program, has to have power going to the receiver to do it.

I had tired others brands that didn't work (among other things the remotes had no batteries or information that you would need to purchase one or even what type). I wanted to have two remotes (we have two cars) to be able to turn on a yard light at night. Trying to back the car up in the yard when it's dark has been a problem. There are no street lights near our home. The Dewenwils unit I bought not only works but I have found that it works at a much longer range than advertised. (I've added a couple of photos to show how I installed the control unit on a wall plate. This is just the way I did it and not in any way intended to be a recommendation from either myself or the Dewenwils company.) The unit comes with one remote and the company doesn't offer the remotes separately. I ended up purchasing a second unit to get the second remote. An added expanse but the original price is reasonable and now I have a spare control if the original one ever fails. It's so nice to find a product that works the way it's supposed to. I could wish the company would offer offer the remote (key fob) separately. I found their replies to my e-mail questions via their contact site to be very prompt and helpful. A good company to deal with all around. There is more to the story! I did order another type of device from this same series (a plug-in remote control). That remote worked with both the new unit and the original but when I cancelled the original remote to make this new remote work the original stopped working. So, in my mind it appears that the different types of units (wall plug, for example) have dedicated remotes that will work only for each type of product. I finally acquired as second unit like the original and what do you know now both remotes will turn the light on and off just like I wanted in the first place. Dewenwils has my overall best rating! A great company to work with.

Does what it claims to do, range is a bit tricky and it needs to be positioned just right if you are using all three switches. The switches, feel very cheap, and have a cheap clicky feel to them that does not feel good.

I ordered the single switch with two receivers. Installation was a breeze. Turned off the power, connected the existing white wire to their blue and existing black wire to their red. I hooked up a test light to their black and white wires and turned the power back on and the receivers worked immediately when I clicked the remote switch. The only negative is the screws provided to mount the remote to the wall really have to be tightened down so they don't sit too high and block the remote latching in to the frame.
