Question 1

My young chihuahuas are very scared of the sound of Velcro esp on their clothes- does anyone know of a good soft harness without it?

I don't know of any. My rescue Yorkie was afraid of such sounds too. I just gradually desensitized him by giving him a tiny treat (even a piece of his dry food!) as a reward at the same time I undid the velcro (with harness off for 2 days, followed by 2 days with harness on). He started to equate the treat with the velcro, so that the sound of velcro was a good thing!  That method has worked with a number of his issues (Swiffer WetJet, vacuum cleaner, getting his eyes cleaned and eye ointment, etc.)  He's now much more relaxed, self-assured, unstressed, and is off all the meds Xanax, Prozac, acepromazine) he was on at various times before I adopted him. Take it slowly. Your pups will be better off  and so much happier if they learn that the sound of velcro equals something good, that there's nothing to be afraid of. (So many things these days use velcro -- sneakers, jackets, dog harnesses, etc. -- it would be a terrible shame if your babies were frightened of them all.) Best of luck.

My teacup poodle puppy measures 8" chest measurement. i can see that the xs will be too big. do you have a size harness she will fit into?

Mine is a 3 lb teacup Pomeranian and this is the only harness I found to fit her. Even pet smart had nothing for her.

When my Ethel was 6 weeks I had to get the xs which fit perfect. Wonderful soft and secure for young dogs. She now has the small as a 7 month old.
