Can you use schedule 40 pipe to replace the cross brace to make it wider?

I don’t know what 40 pipe is and I have no idea what kind of thread is on the ends. But if that is all standard steel pipe stuff, I’d say try it! I might not span TOO much further, because there is no bracing to avoid wracking.

This came with screws in the packaging. They were a bit too long for our live wood, so we used some we had in the house.
