These are far better matches than a lot of the stuff on this site. Took a little bit to arrive but they strike on the first try every time and you get a ton for the price.

Diamond wooden matches are a household staple, spanning generations. They are my candles' favorite sidekick.

Since I quit smoking 28 years ago, I finally ran out of kitchen matches that I now actually use in the shop mostly. They have changed a lot. They are green tipped now and thinner and are imported from Chile. I was curious when I read the made in Chile notice on the box so I did a search and found out that the Diamond Match Company that I knew and grew up with is a thing of the past. The good news is that mine light, the heads stay on, and they last more than a couple seconds like a paper match. Since the wood is smaller and/or a different breed, they don't burn as long as the old red tipped American made matches. Like a lot of things, this ole 80 something will just have to get used to the new market item, and the price isn't that bad considering how badly the dollar has been diminished, Mine took a while to get here because the package had to be ground travel only I guess,

Since you can’t get “strike anywhere” matches anymore, these are as close as you can get. A little pricy but as advertised.
