RYOBI 18V ONE+ Secateurs (Battery & Charger Excluded) | RY18SCA-0, Hyper Green, bypass blades, clean branch cutting, effortless pruning

An excellent piece of equipment! I have used this for about 70 hours now, and it has performed brilliantly. I had a totally overgrown garden to deal with. I cut down about 200 odd brambles which had grown head high. And, trimmed back a load of bushes and trees. I had to cut down a diseased plum, and I used these secateurs to chop the diseased branches into 30cm lengths to burn (to prevent the fungus spreading). It cuts really quite thick branches with ease and lasts a long time on a 4AH battery. I only had to change the battery once from full charge, after a very long day of cutting. Other days, it was always still charged up at the end of the day.It has a safety feature that turns it off after 30 idle seconds, which is good, but also irritating. I would have preferred a turn-off time to be a bit longer (60 secs?). You have to hold the trigger for 10 seconds to turn it back on again. It is a safe thing, but it does mean you cannot keep working. The tool is amazingly strong and sharp. I accidentally cut off the top of my leather glove thumb when my attention strayed... so, watch what you are doing, you could lose a finger if you don't pay attention! It is easy to hold and well-balanced. My wife finds it tiring to use after a few hours. But I was comfortable using it all day. It is powerful and easy to use.

A brilliant tool cuts through thicker branches like butter

Already had Ryobi One equipment, so added this to make use of existing batteries.Absolutely love this piece of equipment. Pruning is so much easier, spent all day in garden using this on one charge, then charged again overnight. Very pleased so far and good quick delivery too :)

Arrived in time. Well packed. Manual with easy to understand instructions. Have used it to prune small trees and to cut thick bushes with excellent results. Not meant for speedy professional use, but highly recommended for home gardening and pruning. Good grip and solid tool. Maybe the trigger is a bit too soft and easy to activate even when not needed. I would strongly recommend the use of protective gloves. Fully satisfied with the results obtained.

Nice strong secateurs, but annoying how short the time is before they turn themselves off.

Brilliant, have got lots of Ryobi tools well made and reliable a must buy if you are struggling with your grip in the latter years of life a must buy

These One+ secateurs are really good in use: better than expected. We were hoping that these would be useful for my Mum, who has arthritis in her hands, and make gardening easier for her when used with one of the smaller, lighter batteries (a 1.3 or 2.0Ah), but actually these are really handy for any of us to use.These powered secateurs will cut comfortably through slim branches - the kind of stuff you couldn’t do with regular secateurs as well as everything you could - quickly and with no strain or effort. They’re a real time saver, to say nothing of eliminating hand strain. With one of the larger 5.0Ah batteries they end up a little on the heavy side (too heavy for Mum to manage, but fine for the rest of us), but will run for ages.The one small negative we’ve found to these is the rapid engagement of the automatic lock safety feature. This activates after just four seconds of disuse - which is quite easy to get through just whilst moving a few snipped pieces - and requires a press and hold on a button on the side to unlock them again. It’s not a big deal, but a little disruptive when you’re mid-task.

Ryobi is well known brand and not cheapest one. But lots of value for money. So works just well.
