This sanding block is simple to use and works well

This sanding block is good quality and holds the paper well, no slippage. Easy to install the paper and to remove it. Can't beat the price. I think the most obvious useful application of this block is best for finish work on flat surfaces. Otherwise, an electric sander is needed for heavier workloads and time efficiency, yes? One reviewer expressed the need to remove the excess rubber remaining on the edges of some of the holes from the manufacturing process in order to obtain a totally flat surface on this block. This is true but easily and quickly accomplished with a piece of 320 grit.

Use Case: - Prep work for painting my office The Good: - Easy to attach sand paper. The sides lift up and small sharp "teeth" hold the paper in place when you clamp the side back down. - No issues with retention of sandpaper. Stays put until you want to remove it. I used it in the direction of the sandpaper and against for multiple walls and baseboards. The jaws never opened unintentionally and the paper never slipped, even with aggressive sanding. - Comfortable size to hold for flat surfaces and extended use. - Solid build quality The Bad: - Not for tighter spaces. Because of its size and shape you won't be able to use it on an English Muffin with nooks and crannies. - Limited types of angles you can sand because you get the flat bottom and you can also make use of the small front and back lip to touch up some spots but those aren't the business ends like the bottom. The Truth: - The bad points I make are just informative for this product because it's not designed to do those things. There is a correct tool for the every job and if you need to sand flat areas then this is that tool. Understand that's it's main purpose and it does it well. Price works for me as I can't see wearing through this one anytime soon so this should be a one and done.

Nice sanding block. ...sturdy, holds paper well. Gave it less than 5 stars as the production mold has obviously been allowed to deteriorate, so about 15 of the holes had ragged little bits of rubber sticking out. ...so, needing it now, I scrubbed it on a sheet of sandpaper until the rubber bits were smoothed. ..didn't go fully flat, but works fine on the car I'm restoring. I see now that they are "...no longer availabel", which suggests Amazon is aware of, maybe fixing, the mold problem. Have picture, if needed.

It’s a flat sanding block. Hard enough to provide a level and even surface without causing damage. It uses the nail system of holding the paper so be sure to trim the paper until it’s taught on the block. It should last for a decade or so.

Just what I wanted for hand sanding.

Works well but is bit misleading about a 1/4 sheet fitting. You have to fold over the sides of the sheet and hold it with your thumb and fingers while sanding. Much like you would do with a block of wood. You’ll need to cut a longer sheet if you want it to “clamp” onto each end.
