I’ve been using the Merryland 5-inch metal cutting wheels for a few weeks now, and I am genuinely impressed. The pack of 50 discs is not only great value but also consistently high quality. I ordered these cutting discs for occasional hobby use, and so far they seem great. I've used 4 discs. None have exploded during use, so far. They seem to cut faster than the harbor freight discs. I've used these discs mostly to cut and chamfer 3/16" thickness mild steel square tube. The chamfered edges are impressively smooth. Thicker cuts in which more of the surface area of the disc makes abrasive contact with the cutting surface wear the disc down quickly. For maximum longevity, it seems best to use only the edge for cutting.

This product received generally positive reviews and the price was more than fair so I decided to try them. I had a project coming up where I knew I'd need to cut through some thin sheets of steel. I just completed this project about an hour ago and the performance of these discs was mildly disappointing. The steel I was cutting was from an exterior door with a foam core. I stripped the steel from the door before cutting them into foldable strips about 10 inches wide, and while these discs managed to get the job done it did take six of them to complete it. The total number of straight line cuts being about 16. Some of the discs lasted longer than the others, but in all cases the discs burned down in size too just over the size of a US silver dollar before I changed to a new one. While this drastic consumption was surprising, I will say that they maintained their cutting performance throughout. I've used other brands that I've picked up at the local big box store and they don't disintegrate the way these do, but the performance declines and you end up changing them with little too no visible change in circumference. All in all, I'm satisfied with the performance of these discs especially at this price point and I would buy them again without hesitation. Just know that they are 'consumables' and so you'll want to keep plenty on hand for jobs cutting even thin metal.

These work well and don't seem to wear out any faster than any other cutting wheel. They are the thin type so there isn't a lot of room to flex these.

I use these to cut open compressor motors and cut the copper out of them. I cut open 8 compressors with 3 blades, then only had to use one more to cut the copper out. So 4 blades, I did the same with harbor freight Bauer brand and used 5 to cut up compressors and 2 more to cut the copper. But the other problem with the arbor freight brand is some blades. Brand new are so dull. They won't cut through the copper! So you have to toss a fresh one on and sometimes that one's dull. Also! That's why I tried these because I was tired of getting bad blades and so far I got no bad ones. With these they're cheaper, and they last longer so I'm sold on these for sure!
