Great Entry-Level Gaming Mouse with Solid Performance
I purchased the Razer DeathAdder Essential Gaming Mouse (Mercury White) for my son when he got his first gaming desktop, and it’s been a great choice so far. The design is sleek and comfortable, especially with the rubber side grips that make long gaming sessions easy on the hands. The 6400 DPI optical sensor is very responsive, providing smooth and precise tracking whether he’s gaming, browsing, or doing schoolwork. The five programmable buttons are a nice touch — he’s been able to customize them for different games, and the mechanical switches feel durable and satisfying to click. Overall, it’s a high-quality mouse at a reasonable price point, perfect for casual to mid-level gamers. The white color also looks clean and modern on his setup. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish gaming mouse.

Probably the best mouse for it's price range, simple, yet does everything needed.
First one lasted about 4 years. It still worked but the left click started to become far too easy to depress. So I was accidently clicking a lot. So I bought a second one. For $20 I will keep rebuying this mouse every 4 years for as long as they offer it. Great mouse, easy to click buttons on the side, great ergonomics, and not too flashy. Responsiveness is great (although its wired so its just as good as any other wired mouse) and the wheel rolls very smoothly and as very subtle notches it clicks into so you don't over scroll when you are trying to me specific. The wheel is also larger than mice I have had in the past so it is easier to click when needed. I don't really care about the RBG but if that is your thing it is not too bright that it distracts, but it is plenty bright to be flashy if that is your goal. It's heavy enough it doesn't move if your knee knocks the desk, yet light enough that I don't notice it when using it. Amazon says to mention connectivity in the review, but its a wired mouse, its plug and play. It is USB-A. Not USB-C I only made this review because I was surprised to see it for only $20. I think it was $39.99 when I got my first one.

Wonderful value, but expect scroll wheel malfunction after 6-12 months
I've owned several Razer mice, none preowned: a DeathAdder 3500 back in 2010 that lasted ~7 years before it started clicking on its own, a Mamba Elite (wired) in 2021 that had just outlasted its warranty when the scroll wheel malfunctioned, and this white DeathAdder Essential, which lasted 13 months before having the same scroll wheel malfunction. Of the three, I like the design of this one more than the others. Visually, it's sleek, simple, and nearly symmetrical -- only as asymmetrical as is necessary to be ergonomic. In contrast to the black with green light, the white with white light is very pretty without standing out glaringly as a gaming mouse. Also, the inevitable buildup of gunk is visible enough on the white to know when you've fully cleaned it, but somehow less nasty looking than on a black mouse, in my opinion. Aside from the eventual malfunction (which I'll address in a moment), all of the aspects of functionality are perfectly satisfying to me. More serious gamers explain that better than I can. The volume of the clicks and scrolls is pleasant and within a normal range. For $20, this is an EXTREMELY good mouse. Others have described the scroll wheel malfunction, but in short, during a scroll the input is interrupted by movement in the opposite direction. Scrolling downward, it will jitter upward in the middle of the scroll, and visa versa. For office use and games where scrolling controls camera zoom, it's just an annoyance. For games where scrolling selects items on a toolbar, it's an actual problem. With the Mamba Elite, I had not known about the issue when I bought it, so I was very frustrated and disappointed, and stubbornly avoided getting a new mouse for quite some time. The malfunction got worse and worse over time. However, I bought this DeathAdder Essential fully informed and expecting to have this problem, with the logic that getting to use this mouse for only 6 months or a year is still worth $20 to me. I saw that folks had this scroll wheel issue as early as 6 months into use; for me, it just started this morning, 13 months into use. I came back to this page immediately to order another one. It feels bizarre to treat a Razer mouse as disposable when the ones I previously owned had been so incredibly expensive at the time, but $20 is $20. When the new one arrives, the old one will travel with me for office use on my laptop. Unless you need a mouse that will last for several years and/or you can't stomach throwing an electronic in the trash when it dies a premature death, I strongly recommend this mouse.

Perfect for gamers
My son needs this specific type of mouse with the side buttons for his online games. The mouse is not too small or large. He is able to use it comfortably. It is not too heavy and he can move it around on his mouse pad with ease. The scrolling speed and buttons are good. Quality seems to be well made and he has no complaints so far.

Great Budget Choice
This mouse is amazing for the price. A great budget mouse for gaming, smooth, responsive, and feels wonderful in the hand. The mouse fits snugly for palm grippers and is a beautiful simple white that matches any setup color scheme. Lights and DPI are adjustable in the Razer software, which is not a hassle to install. It is also not too heavy.

Good quality
It is an amazing deal for the amount I paid. It has great accuracy and is comfortable. The quality is good for what I paid. It has a long cord, which is helpful.

Great budget mouse
Absolutely love this mouse for the price. I buy one every 4-6 months but I do a lot of gaming. The mouse wheel always starts to lose traction after a few months for me. The feel of this mouse is great.
