Great, sturdy little harness.
UPDATE October 2015: Ya know what.... I'm sitting here giggling at my previous review (which I've left intact below the asterisks), because I totally and completely take back what I said about there being no chance in hell that a dog could wiggle out of these harnesses. These harnesses are NOT APPROPRIATE for Miniature Pinschers. Min Pins, lovable yet mischievous and always looking for ways to escape, can wriggle themselves out of these harnesses with ease. I learned this the hard way about 4-5 times. With *both* of my Min Pins. It's a damn shame because its a soft and comfortable harness, but they developed this technique where they stretch out their front legs and just hit the reverse button and slip right out of the harnesses. If your dog is one of those "escape artist" breeds, think twice. *** I bought this harness in pink and in sky blue for my miniature pinscher. For some reason these have slight sizing variations, although both were ordered in x-small. The pink one fits my dog perfectly, but the sky blue one is slightly tighter around the neck. In any case, I am very happy with this harness. I know for sure there is no way my dog can wiggle out of it, as agitated as she tends to be. The mesh seems to be pretty comfortable. She never complains about having it on, and sleeps with it. I don't take it off unless it is to wash it or to change colors or just wear a collar. It is well sewn and constructed - doesn't feel cheap at all. In terms of fit, the x-small fits her perfectly. She is a 3.5 month old miniature pinscher, about 10 inches high and 11 inches long.. about 9ish inches around the neck. This fits her snugly and comfortably. Hope that helps any min-pin owners get an idea of size. I definitely recommend this harness for a hyper dog who likes to try and wiggle out of harnesses, cause there is no chance of that happening with this one! It's also very cute.

Comfy and easy to put on your dog!
I have been buying these harnesses in multiple colors for years for my dogs. They are better than any harness I have ever seen, especially in terms of easy to put on your dog. The ones from pet stores, Walmart, etc. all have so many straps and make no sense to me. These are super easy to slip on and off. Comfortable and soft. These are also affordable and come in great colors and a variety. 5 stars! Lucy (pictured) is about 55 pounds and a size XL.

Comfortable and Secure Harness
This Puppia soft dog harness is a great option for small dogs. The breathable mesh material is soft and lightweight, so my pup seems really comfortable wearing it. The over-the-head design is easy to put on, and the adjustable chest strap helps get a secure fit. The no-choke design is a big plus, especially for dogs that tend to pull on walks. The green color looks great, too! Just make sure to check the sizing—these run a little small, so sizing up might be a good idea. Overall, a well-made and comfortable harness!

Good quality, but sizing is a little off!
After weeks of reviewing reviews until my eyes burned, and researching different harnesses, I decided to go with this harness and the Ipuppy one adjustable dog soft harness "air flex". I have 2 shih tzu's a 10 year old male 12.6 pounds (he is a little on the small side of shih tzu's, being the runt of the litter) and a 3 year old female 9.8 shih tzu (she is on the smaller size also, very dainty). I went back and forth after reading reviews, small size versus medium. I initially had chosen medium, but in the end went with the small. Mistake. The small at the largest adjustment was approx 1 and 1/2 inch too small (for the female) and I'm guessing by eyeing it about 2 inches to small for the male (around the chest). Now i COULD get the head part to go over my females head but would take some wrestling, would probably been ok after I got it over the head, but if its that close, I didnt even bother. My dogs are not the best nor the worst at putting harnesses over them. They will wiggle some but not make it an all out war. So basically the opening for the head is a bit snug and runs smaller while the chest area is about 1 1/2 -2 1/2 inches smaller than the chart sizing they give (judging by the small I ordered). I will be gifting the smalls to friends or perhaps attempt returning (need to review return policy and see if and how much return fee's are). If you have a maltese, peke, small poodle , shih tzu or any similar size breed with weight of 10-14 pounds, maybe a pound or two heavier idk, the small will NOT work. And even going with the medium the part that goes over the head is going to be a lil snug going over ( I don't mind this part as my dogs do not hate harnesses or being messed with, but from time to time due to being excited may wiggle around a bit). Now about quality. The quality seems good and the fabric is soft and comfy. It won't be too hot for the dog (but i would not suggest dark color like black if out in the sun alot, even I dont wear black clothing in summer lol). It looks like it should hold up for a few years and maybe even survive through walking my male dog, or should i say, he walks ME. Regular collars choke them so harness way I would go. If your dog is in between sizes and very hard to fit, i would suggest the Ipuppy one adjustable soft harness because the chest and neck pieces are both adjustable, but does add a lil extra "bulk" around the neck, but not too bad, its better than the Petco harnesses I had tried. Both have their advantages, but this harness looks like it would be more comfortable for the dog around the neck with its simpler design. I sat and examined both of the harness, and decided I would buy one of each. My dogs are very close in size so if one dog develops a preferance, Ill just swap them (my male dog has no issues wearing pink lol) So, to recap, if debating over quality of harness, seems durable and comfy, buy it. If debating over size small or medium, the chest part is adjustable, and the head will be a bit more snug (judging by the small and guestimating on the medium) I prefer a bit snug over too large, looks like it will be bit snug on putting it on but once on should fit good. And my past harnesses seem to stretch a bit after moderate use, and sometimes would get their leg out of them, so i rather a lil snug just going on and be a good fit than it being too big after I get it on and they escape.) Hope this helps, will review the product again when the medium comes in and keep you updated, but for those that need a harness NOW, thought I would offer my opinion. (side note, on the ipuppyone adjustable harness, I would suggest a medium over the small also if you have similar sized breed/weight also, although the part that goes over the head is a wee bit bigger maybe 1-1 1/2 inch bigger opening? Im guestimating, can always adjust it) I like them both and could not decide between the two, so ordered one of each, both are good quality. As far as care for the harness, I would suggest hand washing most harness's and air dry to prevent shrinkage, easy to wash, dry fast anyways

Works great, but is rough for the dog.
I really didn't want to use a regular collar on my dog, so i looked into harnesses. Puppia is pretty much dominating the market with these and there are a few different models out there. This is the first one I got. Keep in mind my puppy (golden retriever) is growing so I knew I'd have to buy a few sizes, so I started off with the small when he was 2 months old. It fit pretty decent at first. But note that you have to force your dogs head through the opening on the harness, it does not stretch or give at all. So it can be rather difficult if they have a very thick head, or not fit right if they have a small head and thick neck. After about a month is was entirely too difficult to continue to get this on/off my dog and I found myself leaving it on for long periods of time, which annoyed my dog itching wise. I then came across Authentic Puppia Combat RiteFit Harness, Camouflage, Medium in medium. It solved the over the head problem and provided some more padding around the neck. It has two clips and velcros allowing you to put it around the neck instead of over the head. The medium size lasted my dog another 6 weeks, after which we're now in a large size (he still isn't nearly fully grown). The limiting factor on the medium wasnt the neck (as it was on the small) but the chest adjustment strap, was at its max and still too tight/no room for growth. All in all I love the Puppia harness, especially the "RiteFit" models. This model I wouldn't really recommend unless you have a specific reason against the rite-fit. If you have a growing dog expect to change out the sizes frequently until they're done growing. If you leave this on your dog for long periods of times, they may itch a lot (at least mine does). And the scratching inevitable tears up the outer fabric on Puppia, which means I might be replacing this more frequently then I wish.

Very durable, great dog safety, good value for the money, easy walking dog, very easy to adjust, nice thickness and durable. I buy only Puppia harnesses.

She's a better walker now
Following everyone else's advice, I measured my cocker spaniel's head circumference instead of her neck. That came in at 13 inches, so I took the large, since medium was listed at 12.5 inches. Her chest girth is 20 inches. That's adjustable and fits perfectly on her. The neck area looks a little loose, though. Maybe I should have gone for medium. The material is a little stretchy, so it probably would have fit just fine. My dog will normally walk at my feet around the house. I wish she would do that on our walks around the block, but having a leash on her collar seems to all of a sudden make her want to pull ahead. Dog obedience training has helped a lot with that, but she doesn't quite do the walk at my feet thing. My dog has also been diagnosed with leash aggression, which we are working on. The trainer showed me how when the leash is pulled even just a little, she gets very aggressive with other dogs. I can't just walk her leash-free, and it's going to take a lot of training to get this out of her, even with a trainer's help. My neighbor suggested a harness, maybe she doesn't like the tugging on her neck. With this harness, she is much improved. She is much more at my side. She still tries to attack other dogs, but she's unpredictable in that way. The change to a harness hasn't helped that. I like the soft material. My dog looks comfortable in it. The beige color goes well with her red coat so she looks good in it. The harness takes a little work to put on her than just using her collar. It's much like putting on a shirt. If I'm just going out for a quick walk, I just use the collar. For her longer walks, I use this harness and I've been very happy with how well she walks.
