A must have to reduce noise
I have since upgraded my DAC to a TOTL model which utilizes an internal streamer card via ethernet through Roon. However, I have a few smaller DACs that I still keep around for various reasons, and most of them don't have galvanic isolation. One way of reducing USB noise without streaming is either using a S/PDIF connection, but this is a great way of reducing noise, as well. For example, the first time I got one of my DACs, I thought that something was seriously wrong with it. I won't mention brand names, but it was a cheaper budget DAC, and it didn't have galvanic isolation. I have a gaming PC where I keep a little DAC/amp setup, and my USB connection to the DAC was causing a large amount of glare and harshness. Using a basic power supply eased it a bit, but one of my friends let me borrow this iFi power supply, and I knew I had to have it. It's very high quality and basically solved all of my issues with unwanted glare and harshness. It's really good at helping out noise. No, this isn't the be all end all solution like streaming is or getting a S/PDIF to USB interface, but it still really does a great job of cancelling out a lot of USB nasties.

When it is too Good a third-party problem can occur.............
Cleans up the noise of a switching transformer? Yes it does; however, found a non-use glitch in the marketing world. Bought this to improve sound floor on my Google 4K TV box. Amazon AI was queried and gave a thumbs up for the audiophile extra mile. Here come the glitch, IFI is clean enough the Google Box triggers a setup error on boot saying it cannot derive power the TV USB output, use a (noisy) wall wart power supply. It works, but in this one case too well tricking the TV Box into thinking a setup error with the traditionally cleaner TV 5v USB output. Will attempt to return.

Good but pricey
Okay, I was completely skeptical about his, but it does have some merit. I was wondering if to pick a power brick like this for years ever since I got my iFi ZEN DAC v2, but couldn't justify the price for just a power brick for a DAC that's already working fine enough off my USB power. Eventually picked one up because I wanted to see if offloading the DAC's power off the USB will allow me not to change my convoluted USB desktop setup, and along the way see how much of a snake oil this product is. So: 1. This product is not snake oil. The quality difference is much more noticeable than it has any right to be. 2. The offloading of the USB power draw allows me to still keep my current USB setup. I wish I bought this sooner. But this is such a weird product to get for me. Had nothing like this, and it was very hard for me to justify it. And that's part of why it's only 4 out of 5 stars. It's good, but it's not $80 good.

I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised!
I have a small desktop 2.1 system that includes a Topping E50, Douk tube preamp eq, and a Dared MP5BT hybrid tube amp with some DIY mini bookshelf speakers (with planar ribbon tweeters that are very revealing), and a Martin Logan Grotto servo subwoofer. After seeing reviewers (like iiWi) explain in detail their experiences with different power supplies, I figured it was worth a shot. So I grabbed this iFi piece as well as the Viborg HiFi USB cable and A/B'd both upgrades. It's difficult to say which made the most difference, but I'd give a slight edge to the iFi power supply. My setup is definitely a bit on the bright side, and this toned down a bit of the "crunchiness" and sibilance. The sound is much warmer and richer, and the soundstage is better defined. The notes on an upright bass in a jazz track were also much more pronounced. Even the level was a bit higher with the USB cable... which I fail to understand how that would happen. Possibly dynamic headroom? With my particular setup, both the power supply and the USB cable had a similar effect, but the two pieces worked well together, and was a significant improvement to my ears. I really expected I'd be returning at least one of these pieces, but for just about $100 for both, it's a no-brainer in my book.

My experience - voltage too high
Your experience will likely vary based on the specific product you use this PS with but my experience - voltage too high, negatively effected sound quality. iFi SilentPower measured 5.23vdc (no load w Fluke VOM) which caused DAC (ONIX XI1) to slightly accentuate mids & highs. After much A/B testing conclusion - DAC retained better overall tonal balance with the generic PS I had been running which measures 5.02vdc. iFi SilentPower voltage would likely drop closer to 5v spec with a higher load but in my low load application voltage ran too high.

Great video upgrade for Roku
I bought this on a whim thinking I'll just send it back if it doesn't make any difference. I have a 5 year old LG OLED 65 inch TV and I watch everything with a Roku streaming stick 4k... Picture quality has been quite good and I turn off all the bs video processing settings. After installing this power supply which replaced a decent quality USB power supply I had been using on the Roku I couldn't believe it, the picture is night and day better. The depth in the picture is almost 3D, film grain looks so good on older stuff like I just started watching the Mission Impossible series from the 60s that looks remastered on Paramount+ and it's incredible, looks awesome ... Really major upgrade just getting all the noise out of the signal starting at the Roku. I already have my entire system powered through a $2k Equitech balanced power conditioner which is great, but the mediocre USB power supply was noisy and now I can see what my OLED can really do with a clean source.

Buena construcción
Esta muy bien construido, y viene con una variedad de accesorios útiles. En cuanto si mejoro el fondo negro de mi sistema, diría que lo hizo de una manera sutil.

This power supply improved my Wiim Pro Plus a lot.
As I write this review I'm only half an hour into using the power supply and it's made a big difference. I've built a hifi system form older high quality component. Refurbished and improved them to make a very nice system. Quad 66 preamp, Quad 309 amplifier, Mission 773 speakers fed by a Wiim Pro plus and a Rega record deck. The Wiim always sounded bad in comparison to the vinyl. I've always bought good speaker cables so realised small things can make a big difference but have always been a bit sceptical about cables and accessories that claim to improve the sound especially when they involve a reasonable investment. However, purchasing high quality (expensive) cables to connect the components has made a big difference. So I thought it was worth a go at improving the Wiim with a power supply. I had tried it in many USB supplies. They do sound different but none sounded good. The difference the iPower supply has made to the Wiim Pro Plus is remarkable. Music is tight and controlled with a nice rounded bass. I'd thoroughly recommend it on high end components before you decide to try a more expensive streamer.

Actually works
fixed an issue with my topping dac and eliminated humming and buzz noise from it, this thing actually works, and i tried so many other ways to fix it i wish I had just done this first.
