Manga artist and Pop Surrealism superstar Camilla d’Errico presents her first ever adult coloring book, filled with portraits, patterns, and the stunning artwork her fans and collectors have come to love. This one-of-a-kind book offers you the opportunity to collaborate with d’Errico, adding your colors to her gorgeous black and white linework. Featuring everything from haunting and surreal character portraits to pages filled with patterns and designs all rendered in d’Errico’s inimitable style, Pop Manga Coloring Book is guaranteed to provide hours of coloring fun and excitement. Review: Great coloring book with very well done art! - I have always loved these pop manga coloring books! Beautiful drawings!! And the quality of the paper is really great! I love how thick it is. Review: Beautiful Manga Designs with unusual and inventive look – designs printed both sides of page - This is a wonderful coloring book filled with imaginative and unusual Manga style designs. I am used to straight-forward Manga with cute girls with big eyes. In this book, the girls are still beautiful but are incorporated into fantasy style images. Quite often, the subject girl is pensive, staring off into space. This is a book that I am buying for several of my friends for gifts at the holidays. It is so unusual and different, they will be sure to love it, too. The designs are detailed and some are intricate. Coloring them is definitely akin to coloring artwork rather than simple line drawings. I think the book is pretty much one of a kind, though I can hope that the artist may consider issuing another coloring book in the future. This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper: 80 pages of imaginative and unusual Manga style designs (includes title page and copyright page.) Printed on both sides of the page Paper is heavy weight, white, slightly rough and non-perforated Glue binding Designs merge into the binding area and a number of them cross over the binding for a two-page design Book can be opened fairly flat but takes some effort and breaks the spine of the book. Alcohol-based markers bleed through the paperbacks Water-based markers, India ink pens, and gel pens do not bleed through or leave shadows. Some gel pens require additional drying time. Colored pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils.

Great for Exploring Your Own Style
*** Some of the pictures I am sharing are from pages I've used from her other coloring books. I will be coping and pasting this review to the other books I've bought in her collection. *** I have bought 3 different Camilla d'Errico coloring books and can not say enough how great these are. Her art style is so unique and surprising, and you never know what to expect. They are designed in such a fantastical way that allows you to really use any colors you want. I have been trying to break out of my box of "color rules" and be more creative with my coloring. These books are so perfect to practice in. The pages are good sized and thick, so you never have to worry about bleed through when using ink/paint. They are also very durable so if you need to erase something, you can do so without damaging the paper. For anyone looking for a fun coloring experience, this is totally worth it.

My favorite coloring book ever
I absolutely love this book. So much so that I have considered buying a second copy. I feel like even though over a million coloring books exist, it is still an untapped market. There are all the conventional ones (like Secret Garden) and it seems like the majority of the unconventional ones are swear words, but there are so many of those that they are conventional too. This book is just different. We need more like it. I love how the pictures inspire creativity, because they call for bright pops of color, and since most of the drawings are so imaginative, there are no rules about what conventional colors objects must be. I also like that the author encourages colorists to color outside the lines and not follow rules. I had fun adding some of my own embellishments and covering over ones that didn't work well for me. I only had a couple small issues. Some pictures seemed incomplete. Like eyes with no pupils or irises. Just really rough sketches. It just seems like some were drawn with care and attention to detail, and others were drawn with haste and had elements that look sloppy. It probably isn't that big of an issue if you have a graphite pencil or black pen. Other issues can get taken care of as you add color. This isn't a huge deal, but areas where I applied a lot of pressure, had some ink that rubbed off of underlying images on to other ones. It looked like pencil marks that are very light and weren't completely erased; the lines would probably disappear when colored over with even a light color, I bet.

Quick review for now
This will be a quick review since I haven't started coloring the book, and it will be updated when I do. For the most part I really like the book. The images are a good mix of head close-ups, whole body images, many bodies images, simple, detailed, no shadowing, some shadowing, fine lines, thick lines... So there's something for every taste, which I think was their intention. Personally, I would've preferred more simple, fine lined, images with no shadowing. And I also do not like the little creature (forgot its name) that pops up here and there with the dialogue bubble. It distracts from the main images. I think I will be taking off the dust cover when coloring to not ruin it and to make it more comfortable for me since it slips. It seems like the paper is a very good quality that supports different kinds of media, but I don't think it's good enough for water colors or heavy markers use. We'll see. It seems like you can color the image on the dust cover, too. The pages are squared, glued to the bound and double sided. No perforated pages, boo! I was really hoping for one-sided and perforated. I wish there were also some nudes, but I guess they were trying to keep it PG. We shouldn't be concerned about artistic nudes and kids seeing them; nudes are not necessarily sexual, but, we're in America, where everything is sexualized! I am familiar with and a follower of d'Errico's work, so I pre-ordered this book back in February. It's been a long wait! So I guess I also had a lot of expectations, but all in all I'm giving it 4 starts for now because the work is indeed beautiful, the book is high quality, and you get a lot of images.

Beautiful images, double sided pages.
This book has amazing images that are really fun to color. My only complaint is that the pages are double sided, so if you use alcohol ink or watercolors, you'll only be able to use one side of each page. I also prefer to cut the pages out with a craft knife before coloring, so the few pages that are two page spreads won't be as interesting for me to color. I've used both alcohol ink markers and watercolor on a few images (the photo is of alcohol ink) and the paper holds up beautifully. The cover is also is able to be colored, and under the dust cover there are a few images that are printed on the bright colored cover which would be good for acrylic or gauche paints (thought I haven't tried this). The book is a bargain at this price! I have seen a few people complain that the eyes of many of the characters are just white, but I love this because you can color them in and have a different look than just the pre-drawn pupils and highlights. In the image attached, I was able to color in the eyes entirely, and I think they turned out pretty great.

Stunning art!
This artist by far has the best and most beautiful coloring books in the market. I have several from different artist and these collection, the art is superior. My ONLY complain is that the pages are double sided and no matter what medium you use the other page is automatically ruined. From her second collection I had to purchase 2 copies to be able to color all of them. The books aren’t cheap and so the artist and publisher should maybe consider the buyers pocket and make the pages one sided. Not every one can afford to buy 2 and I got lucky I was able to purchase a second copy. This won’t stop me from purchasing this beautiful coloring books BUT it would be nice for that option to be considered for the next one. ( I hope your next book doesn’t take too long!! I do have your cute and creepy copy....but I don’t want to wait long for a new one!! I love them!!)

PERFECT for alcohol markers!🌙
I’m a beginner at alcohol markers and blending and the cover of this coloring book is my first ever picture with alcohol markers-(see photo-I used Arteza 144 piece EverBlends alcohol markers). I love how it’s left colorless intentionally. Clearly the artist wants you to use your own imagination. I love that! What is not to love about this book? This is my favorite coloring book I’ve EVER owned. I don’t know how the artist did it, but she clearly understands how to draw in a way where it can ACTUALLY accept tonal shades to create a dimensional picture. That’s one of the reasons I love this coloring book. Sure it’s just a coloring book, but the artist does incredible line work and takes in consideration where the light would hit. It’s a HUGE win for people who are learning how to color with light and shading. One may not think this could be a beginner coloring book, but the artist makes it easy to figure out where to light would hit (if I’m making sense). . It’s just a perfect coloring book ok? Just buy it😌 You won’t regret it.

Beautiful and cool creatures to color!
Beautiful and cool creatures to color. Paper is of good quality (although, I only use regular coloring pencils). Since the lines aren't like a regular coloring books it gives you more freedom with coloring and blending colors, and it just feels more free and easier to try different things. Some creatures are really adorable! I also really like Ayako's appearances throughout the coloring book, encouraging you, giving advice and talking about the drawings
