Is this the pointed tip, for sure? its isn't specified in the description.

It is. The case and knife are solid. The rubber strap can be a little cumbersome but works fine. Only con I ran into was that even with rinsing off with fresh water immediately after using some rust still developed on the hilt some.

does the strap work good?

The knife it self is worth having but the strap useless I've dives with it for four months..really does nothing to secure the knife .. I had to use Velcro strips to secure to my forearm which works.

can the sheath be attached to a bc?

I do not think this is a good choice to mount to a BC. There are knives designed specifically for that. If your BC has grommets specifically for a knife make sure they are appropriate distance apart for the knife you choose.

Very nice Knife but bought as a gift and the plastic box it came in was really scratched up and cracked was not the best presentation but the item itself is really good doesn't rust like my last dive knife
