This is a very good cabinet
The cabinet is great but it arrived damaged on both back panels I was able to straighten them so the base could be assembled, sturdiness was great, I over loaded with heavy tools, easy adjustable feet to level to floor

MADE IN THE USA - QUALITY ITEM
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT QUALITY STORAGE CABINET. BACK PANELS CAME DAMAGED DUE TO SHIPPING/HANDLING.

I can not believe this is worth even $50... Flimsy and poorly built.
This item showed up heavily damaged, the box was also damaged. Several pieces of the metal were bent and there were screws missing. I tried to just get it built so I wouldn't have to deal with a return. I had to hammer on this, find alternative screws and slam and bend things into place just to get it upright. I spent over 5 hours trying to get it out together and it still doesn't sit straight and the door doesn't close. I am HIGHLY dissatisfied with this product and the delivery service which CLEARLY damaged it on its way here. DO NOT BUY this cabinet, it is easily the worst item of garage furniture I have ever tried to put together.

Poor Workmanship
I purchased two of the 48" wide Craftsman Storage Cabinets, from Amazon. Based on other reviews, I examined both carton for damage, and found no significant damage. Both cabinets were were packed very well. After unpacking the first cabinet, I found a few bent and dented panels, the worst was the right door bottom corner, where the hinge is. Luckily I have some fabrication experience and was able to fashion the metal so the door swings and closes properly, while still looking good. The second cabinet was an entirely different story. Every single was damaged. Again, the right hand door had the same damage, but this time the entire flange that all three hinges are mounted was also bent. I would have sent it back, except for the hassle of re-packing and sending it. After spending more time straitening the panels than assembling, I finally got the second cabinet finished. These cabinets seem to be pretty sturdy, after they are put together, but the individual panels are pretty delicate. It appears that the damage happened at the factory. Being made in USA, I would have expected better workmanship. I found footprints, both on some panels, as well as on some of the Styrofoam packing. (see pictures) A note, on the manual states it was inspected b J. Newell, so the damage probably happened in packaging. If they can find the person that wears the shoes with the sole print, in the pictures, they may want to suggest that he pursue a different career path. I am very happy with the assembled cabinets, and they make a nice addition to my garage, and allow me to hide all the "stuff" my wife thinks I need to get rid of.

Poor quality
Bottom line up front: If you are looking for something sturdy/heavy duty, you should absolutely look elsewhere. If you just want some simple garage storage at a low cost, this could be for you. I ordered two of these cabinets and they both arrived damaged. They were HEAVILY packed in styrofoam and foam wrapping, so I don’t believe that the damage is due to handling by Amazon. The delivery guys that brought them into my garage were careful with them. Both boxes had panels that were bent, scratched, and scraped in the same places, so it seems that the damage is either from manufacturing or the packaging process. The panels are made of very flimsy metal. This was disappointing, but ended up being handy as I was able to unbend the damaged panels using my fingers (yikes!). Assembly was fairly uneventful and simple. The instructions were not too difficult to follow along with, but the diagrams were small and low detail, which made figuring out panel orientation and screw/bolt placement a bit of a challenge. The flimsiness of the panels comes in handy once again, because assembly is not as difficult with the metal being so thin and lightweight. The edges of some of the panels were roughly cut, so be careful with handling them and have some bandages ready. The issues I encountered with assembly were with the smaller parts. I was missing a bolt from the first cabinet, but was given an extra screw that I was able to use instead. The second cabinet had all of the necessary parts plus an additional three screws and two nuts. Both cabinets came with far too many of the smaller door hinge screws, so if you have too few of those, I have them in my garage. I also had some difficulty lining up the holes for the screws and bolts due to some creasing in the panels that I wasn’t able to fully eliminate by hand. After the cabinets were assembled and everything was tightened up, they were not square. Using the adjustable feet to square and level the cabinets resulted in a “good enough” decision on my part. Finally, the shiny red color is gaudy, but with all of the scrapes and scratches on these things, we’ll probably end up repainting them anyway. On the positive side, the cabinets really do look better than open faced shelving, and our garage feels cleaner and more organized now. The shelves are somewhat adjustable, and they feel fairly sturdy. They are light (flimsy) enough to make positioning them easy. The doors are probably the sturdiest part of the cabinets, and when the cabinets are against the wall I only see the doors, so that’s a good thing. On the whole, I was disappointed in how flimsy these cabinets are, but for $299 each they do what we need them to do and they’re better than what we previously had. If you’re in need of something sturdy that can provide more than basic storage these are definitely not for you, but if you just want to clean and organize your garage a little bit, these aren’t a bad choice.

Assembly was a piece of Cake!
I had read the reviews and realized that a small % were negative. I could have bought it (same price) @ local Lowe’s and paid to have it delivered!! I loved it from the get-go!! See after assembled in my garage on right. It went together in about 1 1/2 hours with my wife’s help. We are both in our 70’s!! All fit great, NO need for the BS adaptations that others say!! The ONLY thing I needed to do was add washers to the shelf mounts as the back supports were a bit short. I added 3 washers between the front of the cabinet as Nd the shelf itself to force the shelving backward about 3/4 inch. They was a design flaw that took about 1/2 hour to fix on all 3 shelves. It MIGHT have held ( weight wise) without my adaptation of extra washer but for as Nd extra $4 @ Lowe’s, well worth the change!! If you are even partly a DIY person, this is a great product for the cost. I will have it forever and it is well worth the $400 that it cost!! Disregard those complainers. It arrived from Amazon unblemished and was a great product! Get it if you are even marginally capable of assembly!! 2 hours later it fulfills all my expectations!! 5 out of 5!!

As expected
Exactly what you’d expect from craftsman product. Light weight. Solid shelf to hold good amount of weight. Easy to put together.

Arrived Damaged
I received the cabinet and was happy with the design and materials. It is a quality item or rather should have been. Both side panels, which as clearly visible when assembled, were bent significantly. Another panel was scratched. It seemed well packaged, but it is disappointing. For $400 I would expect better.
