This kettle is slightly heavier due to the components. BUT because you can tap in the temperature you save so much on energy and your electric bill! When I am doing hot water bottles I tap in 60 degrees which is enough. Also for coffee I tap in 80 degrees and tea 90 degrees. My kettle has never boiled up to 100 degrees and therefore saves money. Also if you are doing other chores you know the kettle will switch off at your chosen temperature without over boiling, wasting energy and causing a lot of damp and steam!!! A great appliance. 👍🏻

This kettle is totally metal inside which is why I bought it. However the downside of metal is that it is heavier than my old plastic kettle and doesn’t contain the same amount of water. An interesting feature is that you can see the exact temperature of the water as it heats up - from 0 - 100.

This kettle is a rip off. I live alone so it didn't get a lot of use. Amazon don't seem to have a 12 month warranty on small electrical goods like Argos does. It is German made and there was no guarantee. The name of the brand - Arendo has also worn off. According to Amazons written instructions on web site I have to take it up with the manufacturers. It seems to boil at 80 degree. I always thought that German made stuff was good. Will go to Argos when I have saved up for a new kettle. The planned obsolescence time of this item is ridiculous. UPDATE: Got a full refund and apology from the seller.

Super kettle, looks high end enough to match my siemens toaster from long ago, not loud – open plan home friendly ( my old bosch one was deafening in comparison) and in all honesty the no filter is no issue. As long as the electronics work for as long as I want to keep this kettle, it a win.

Very happy with this kettle. First of all, one of the rare kettles that are not plastic. Secondly, it does not heat up so much from outside unlike a previous kettle I owned. Thirdly, the wide opening on top makes cleaning easier. Finally, the ability to watch and set temperature really makes life easier. Very happy with this product.

Really frustrating because I first ordered this same item in Feb 2022, then 2024, and then Apr 2025. The 2022 kettle actually lasted 4 years until the lid button broke. The 2025 kettle was okay but I could tell that the manufacturing design and quality was slightly different to my first kettle, and I had a feeling it would only be a matter of time. It's in July, and the lid completely fell off :( So sad. I really liked this kettle and was convinced it was one of the best, before they changed the design / quality. I don't think it comes with any warranty so unfortunately will have to consider what to do next.

The kettle initially purchased was faulty - the temperature control didn’t work. Water was clearly boiling but the temperature reading did not seem to reflect this. So kettle kept boiling for a long time after it had in reality reached 100 degrees. From reading reviews it seems I was not the first person this happened to. Upon being notified the Seller promptly sent out a replacement which works perfectly. So I’m a very happy customer. Kettle looks good, is easy to clean, and the temperature control is a nice function to have. Very good value at the price in my opinion.
