A nice low-power PS/2 mouse at a great price.
This is a basic PS/2 mouse - the main features are the low power it consumes, and the great price. If you NEED something that doesn't suck down current, this is the mouse for you. I had to hunt down the spec - it's 10ma. Now you don't need to hunt it down. :)

It works on a windows 98!
After years of trying to scrape away every hair from the little roller thingies on those old mouse controllers (the ones with balls) I've finally found an optical mouse that is compatible with my windows 98! That's all there is to it. It works! No extra drivers needed. Smooth. And the wheel works too; though you may need to adjust a few settings or something-- I can't remember. I can't tell you how many of my Sim Farm strawberry fields have been eaten up by bugs while I was furiously trying to get the dumb ball mouse to move! :'D No more!

Worked on my old DEC Alpha (and old HP Core2 PC)
I got this because I needed a mouse for my DEC Alpha (personal workstation 433a), I still have Windows NT 4 on the beast so I needed something to work with it as the various USB to PS/2 adapters did not work. This mouse worked very well (well enough I'm ordering another tonight and a backup just to be safe). Had no trouble booting up into Windows and never any trouble using it, scroll mouse worked just fine. I also have plugged it into an old HP Core2 small form factor PC (sorry not sure the model, but it is old enough it still says "HP Compaq" on the front under the HP logo) and booted into 64-bit HaikuOS and it actually worked where my USB MS comfort mouse 4500 did not. So to me proves the PS/2 port sometimes is just one of those things that "just works" when USB fails you.

Optical mouse with PS/2 connection. Beats the old style ball mouse of old.
It is a basic optical mouse with a PS/2 interface. Other than the scroll wheel, and the fact that it is optical, there are no no other bells and whistles. Works perfectly out of the box on an old Pentium II machine running Windows Me. Also tried it with Windows 98, works just fune. It is very, very light. I am not sure of the quality of its components and how long it will last. I would not use it as the mouse on my daily driver computer. But for the occasional retro computing session it sure beats the classic ball mouse.

New Mouse Life for Old Desktop
Background: I have a refurb Dell Desktop and I used a USB Wifi adapter. I just switched to a travel router and hardwire LAN. My old setup worked but the mouse (Dell wired USB optical) was glitchy at times. I finally had enough and switched to a PS/2 mouse. The ancient, OEM mouse was mechanical, though. The scroll wheel was loud and had a heavy tactile feedback. And mechanical mouses tend to gum up. I wanted a cheap PS/2 optical mouse with at least 600 dpi. I've had s Perixx BlueTooth mouse before that I still have and like. And the price was right. I'm using the Perixx now and I love it!

It's simple, precise and does what a mouse should do.
It's simple, precise and does what a mouse should do. Now I typically game with a controller, or wheel so I don't really game with this, but it did get me one of my highest scores in the accuracy benchmark test from user benchmark, for what ever that is worth. It is a very simple design, no special ergo look or feel, but no complaints here and being one of the few ps2 mice you can get leaves little to compare, but this is the only one I use now.

gekocht om oudere pc mee te bedienen die niet op USB werkt maar enkel met ps2 en de muis werkt perfect. USB naar PC2 overgang werkte niet maar met deze muis dus wel... een aanrader

I purchased this PS2 mouse in anticipation of the Spectrum Next as it uses a PS2 connection, not USB. Although I haven’t got my Spectrum Next yet, I’ve tested this mouse with my PC and I’m really happy with it. It’s 3 button (2 finger buttons and wheel click button) and it’s very smooth and responsive, due to its dpi. It’s a nice comfortable size that is both usable for hours on end but small enough to not take up too much room. Summary: Very pleased with this mouse. It works great and is a great price. Can’t wait to use this on my Spectrum Next!

Compré este “mouse” para poder usar una computadora ya muy viejita. Me sirvió bastante bien para darle rienda suelta un rato a la nostalgia.

I bought this and the PS2 keyboard to go with my new retro Pocket 386 portable computer. Works great. Sadly, Windows 95 doesn’t use the scroll wheel. But it works in DOS 7.10 and Windows 95, so I’m impressed.
