Def Jam Fight for NY

If you're looking for an over the top fighting game with a surprisingly deep story where loyalty and morality are put in question, this is the game for you. With special guest appearances such as Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, Method Man, Redman, and Busta Rhymes, it's full of hip hop icons and a soundtrack like a Hip Hop legendary mix. Story follows a created player in battle between two Mafia-like factions in order to take control over New York City. Fighting is similar of that to WWE games, with an addition of over the top finishers that range from slow motion flips and bone snaps, to throwing your broken opponent into the path of an incoming subway or out of a ten story window. From start to finish, this game will grab your chaotic fighting needs in a roller coaster of fun and excitement. Take the fight up with up to 3 other friends in 2v2 tag fights or 4 way Battle Royals. Only problem I have with this game is that it ISN'T on a newer gen console, so I dusted off my old ps2 just for a chance with this growing aged, yet overlooked heavy weight fighter. Bottom line, if you love fighting games, then Def Jam: Fight For NY should NOT go without play.

Fight for New York is a VAST improvement over the first Def Jam game. Besides the standard improvements in sequel (more characters, stages, modes, etc.) Fight for New York improves the already great "AKI wrestling engine" from the last game by adding more ways to win a match. The last game you could only win by using your "blazin'" finishing move on your enemy on low health or by wearing down limbs via submissions. Both methods took too long and was a major downside to the last game. One last great thing about this game is the 1 player mode where you fully customize a fighter and strengthen him through points gained in battle. Long story short; Great game, it's a blast even if you never played the first one or care about rap culture/rappers.

Hands down the BEST brawler/wrestler game on PS2 that doesn't have WWE on the cover. If you remember the N64 wrestling games like WWF Wrestlemania 2000 & WWF No Mercy (The BEST fighting game on N64 IMO) You will feel right at home playing this game. The controls are nearly identical but, they added extra stuff like customizable fighting styles and numerous crazy over the top finishing moves. Plus the fact that it features so many characters, 40 I think. The story mode is very good as well and takes a good amount of time to complete. The music was AWESOME as well but, kinda limited to only around 20 tracks. Also the create a fighter option is INCREDIBLE with REAL clothing lines. EA PLEASE release this game on Xbox LIVE & PSN for download. So many people missed out or dismissed it because of it having to do with rappers/ hip hop that it didn't get the fair shake it REALLY deserved. Finally, if you tried the garbage version on Xbox 360 & PS3 called Def Jam ICON, play this then imagine it with ICON graphics and you will see that EA could have had a HUGE hit if they had kept it simple instead of the tragedy that ICON was. True opportunity missed on that EA.

Acceptable was an understatement listed for the game. Spent quality money on this game knowing it is hard to find and has a spiked price as is. But to receive the game with a completely scratched FRONT AND BACK should NOT be deemed as acceptable. Given the blemishes, I’m still making an attempt at playing this game nonetheless.. as soon as I pop it in... NOT READING! My PS2 has no problem reading any of my other games. Will be returning and buying elsewhere. Completely dissatisfied. UPDATE** Have repurchased through a complete different vendor, decided to pay an extra $10 for a guaranteed with a 100% rating seller and now at ease. Thank you! Game looks PERFECT AND has the original casing and manual. Big plus!!

No original casr disk was coming out the container for the prize not worth it.

Received very very late it was scratched up completely but worked like new so I'm keeping it because it's hard to find

THIS IS A MAN'S GAME!!! I love this game! I 1st played this game while stationed in Germany during my stint in the Army over 6yrs ago. I finally found this game again and it is so much more fun than i remember. There are different fighting styles (street fighting, martial arts, kickboxing, submissions) that can be combined to create unique fighting styles, you can buy clothes (hip hop gear and others), jewelry (from Jacob the jeweler), get hair cuts/styles, the game DOES use vulgar language and that is one of the features that allured me to it. DEFINATELY BUY THIS GAME!!!

There's a little scratches but it's still in good condition, worth of buying and I'm happy with it, thank you. 👍
