This high quality, gorgeous gift is a steal for the price. My bronze version arrived today and I was quite surprised by the heft. The weight is probably in the product description details but I had no idea. It's also huge. I wanted to surprise a 21 year old at his surprise party with something fun. It's perfect and an unusual keepsake. Money will be inside instead of the rings. The engraved rings are sweet but I won't include them inside the gift. I'll slip them into a separate package so he can use it for proposals in the future should he choose to do so. I'm so glad I read the comments and ordered one. It won't be my last order.

I got this to hide clues to a vacation trip for my son. The quality is really amazing; very heavy and solid construction. I was worried it would be hard to reset the key word, but it was surprisingly easy and the directions were easy to follow. There were 2 rings inside the cryptex that reminded me of Lord of the Rings; very neat looking, though I couldn't read the writing with whatever font they used. I removed those since they were irrelevant for my purposes. The inside chamber is quite small... my original idea of putting envelopes in there was quashed. The chamber is about 3" long and about 1" high. I had to create tiny scrolls to put in instead. The box it came with was fancy enough to use as a gift box, so hooray for no wrapping! Overall, I really like this cryptex and hope to use it more often in the future. I just wish the interior chamber was bigger!!

This is a quality puzzle box. It's solid and not cheap plastic. We purchased this as part of a birthday gift for our 6 year old, who asked for a treasure hunt for his birthday. This little puzzle box started it all, with clues to decipher to open, more clues inside, etc etc leading to a buried treasure. You'll have to figure out the clues and the treasure, but this is a great way to start and I expect it will last and be used for future birthdays.

16 year old grandson thought this was very cool. I put cash inside but it also makes an attractive and interesting desk toy. It is heavy and of great quality. It’s a little tricky to reset the code on the tumblers, you have to deal with a small tool. Overall I highly recommend for a teen or adult to hide a small gift, note, or money. It looks like something Indiana Jones might find.

Single handedly one of the most awesome items we’ve ever purchased. Bought this as part of a multi-stage adventure for our 5 year old. This was a clue they had to find mid adventure and solve a riddle to get the six letter answer. My 5 year old can only spell his name (which is luckily 6 letters). But he was able to solve it and open the container to find the map leading to the next clue. This thing is like 5lbs! Solid, metal, and awesome. It comes default set to “ILoveU” but two small set screws let you remove and reset the combo to any 6 letter combination you want. It does come with 2 rings (1 gold, 1 Silver) inside with the Lord of the Rings writing on it.

I am in love with this product. It is as good as I hoped, and better than expected. It's a quality gift that comes in a beautiful box and requires no effort unless you want to add an extra special touch. I was looking for a unique gift and came across this. There was a great video that explains how it looks and feels, and how to reset the lock code if desired. The standard code to open the capsule is, "I love u" but with no spaces. If you desire to personalize the code, simple instructions, and a screwdriver are provided (you can also just watch the video on the main product page ). They have included a small tube of superglue and two extra screws! There are three color/finish options which can provide additional personalization because this is such a unique and cool looking gift that it makes a great knickknack. When the puzzle is opened, a "tube" is revealed that contains a small piece of foam sporting two rings, one silver finish one gold. To me, that's just a suggestion as to what you can put inside. Included in the gift box are two chains that you can put around a ring or something small, so that if the tube is opened and engagement ring were inside, for example, it could be easily found if it fell. This makes more sense when you receive the product. The product will arrive in a cardboard box so be careful if using a knife or scissors when opening so as not to damage the giftbox inside. The gift box is metallic and textured, also a gift in itself. It can be wrapped or presented as is. Inside the box you will find a cream-colored, blank card made of heavy card stock with a matching metallic butterfly and generic message on the front. My only complaint about this product is that the text contains a typo. However, the card was a bonus because I didn't realize it was included. The catd comes in clear plastic packaging, which can be resealed. This comes in extra handy if you want to include a clue/clues to figure out the code. I cut six small pieces of paper, wrote letters on them to unscramble and sesled them in the card package. Once the tube is opened, you have countless options for what to put inside, as long as it's small. I have used money, a check and even created a scroll. Every time it's been a hit. I am so happy with this product. I will definitely purchase again and again in the future.
