Has anyone figured out how to use the whole thing? Its only 1/4 full when new, and it stopped 'screwing up' after I used just half

They seem a bit oddly made. I just popped of a small stopper at the bottom of the case and used a thin stick to push up the deodorant plunger. Then I could scrape it all out into another stick and pushed it down with my fingers. It's very wasteful packaging and seemingly designed to throw a lot of the product away.
