HFS (R) 58pc Hold Down Clamp Clamping Set Kit Bridgeport Mill (7/16" Slot 3/8" Stud)

First of all I would say that this is a very well made clamp set. The teeth are sharp and well defined. threads are well cut and clean. Mine all came wrapped in plastic. Each group together. Slight oil covering which is so light I'm not going to clean it off as it is a perfect rust inhibitor as it is. The rack is perfect also. Yes it is a metal framework with heavy plastic sections for the individual items. Overall, it is a "10" to me.

It appears to me that the t-nuts and clamp straps are forged, so they're not straight and square like machined ones would be, I don't think it affects their functionality. If you don't mind a minimal amount of work, this kit is fine. There are burrs on the bottom of all the clamp straps that'll need to be filed off so as to not mar your work. Also they are well oiled so need to be wiped down some. The t-slot nuts fit a bit looser than machined nuts because of the forging. I took off one star because the holder only has metal back with a plastic base to hold all the pieces, the listing claims "metal holder", also the box was beginning to disintegrate and parts were close to falling out.

Hold downs are solid with good machining on the teeth. The wedges come pre-nested and the teeth fit tightly together. The case is what really shines here. I had read reviews on similar products about flex and flimsy plastic. This has a metal L shaped bracket that the plastic tray fits on/into and is attached with screws. The plastic is really solid, like you could probably stand on it kinda solid. Zero concerns about it.

This product is a super value . Simple an ridged . I see a lot of comments claiming this product to be of poor craftsmanship an simply not usable . I believe these comments come from beginners who just don't know the trade . This product is not precision ground or treated with special rust inhibitors , But it doesn't need to be to do its intended job . You can buy precision ground tooling clamps with all the finer points , but you'll pay 10 times the money. Personally I am thankful a company out there is willing to make simple tools that get the job done and keep cost down for us that can't afford to buy top notch ! Great product , I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely buy from this seller again.

A lot of bang for the buck for a home machinist! I've checked every piece in this hold down set and every hole and thread was good. I like the way the studs lock just secure enough when screwing into the tees allowing them not to stick out of the bottom of the tees and it lets you tighten the nut without spinning. If you rather have it free thread all the way through the tees just run a tap through them. I see no reason to spend any more than what I did buying this set at the price I paid. Do your research to get the best price and defiantly check the shipping charges from some sellers- they like to real you in with a lower price to only jack up their shipping prices way above what it should be. That is why I like and shop with Amazon Prime. For the number of purchases I make yearly it pays off for me along with a no hassle return policy if needed and 2 day shipping. That is why I'll sometimes buy yellow bananas instead of green if I want to eat them now and not wait a few days! Just saying. All the stepped clamps matched up very good and hold very securely without any flex. The packaging was perfect and I had no damage or missing parts. The storage unit is very adequate and nice to mount on a wall as I did. Bottom line is- if this is what you are looking for I highly recommend that you consider this hold down set from this seller. Good set. Pretty basic, so not much can go wrong with it. One of the pieces was damaged which may affect use at that height. Not worth the hassle of returning.

For the money you cannot beat this. Even in a industrial setting this is fine. Has everything you need to hold down parts even during heavy machining. Sure you can spend more, but honestly you almost cannot tell the difference between this set and others that cost three times as much

Well made and sized. All parts fit together well and seem quite strong and robust. It came with a very nice steel case which is made to hang on the wall which keeps everything in order and easy to access. I would highly recommend this set!

La calidad del material es lo esperado, lo único malo es que la cuerda del conector no era completa pero se solucionó muy fácil con un machuelo para finalizarle la cuerda

Beau kit mais le T-Nuts sont trop gros même si j'ai commandé le plus petit mais je vait trouver une solution le kit est quand-même bien

These are like all the other ones and do the job as they should. Quality is on par with all the other sets I've seen. The only part that took a star away is the storage rack. Everything fits but the flanged nuts that store on the front next to the T-nuts get inserted in a slot that is too wide for them so if they shift to one side or the other they fall out which is a little annoying. The storage rack could be better and all made out of metal instead of metal and plastic. Still the rack at least does 95% of what is needed.
