UOTEK UT-880 USB to RS-232 Interface Protocol Vonverter VER 2.0(1-port USB to RS-232 Serial Converter with ESD protection)

Had bought a different cable earlier to flash my hybrid inverter, but the cable couldn't do the job. I then bought this cable and it got the job done at the first attempt.

These UTEK units are just great. They have very nice FTDI chips in them and the communication just works (I tried on Linux and Mac OS X and it was flawless). They are solidly built with strong cable and a ferrite choke. They look nice and come in a decent package. The indicator lights are useful enough. I also have their RS-485 adapter and it works fantastic. My one criticism is that the documentation is pretty bad, but then again this kind of adapter just works when you plug it in.

I have ordered many of these for myself and colleagues. They always connect and we like the communication led’s. Never had one of these not work regardless of Windows version or com settings. Great device.
