Works great and great price!
I have purchased different brands of these dehumidifiers that use the renewable silica gel and they all seem to do the job quite well, this brand included. The problem is that all the different manufacturers claim that these things will last for 10 years, or can be recharged 10,000 times, or will virtually last forever. Not true. The average for any of them is maybe 2 years, with the recharging times taking longer and longer until the little gel balls no longer change color back to the dry state, and don't dehumidify anything. With that being said, I have found these plug-in rechargeable dehumidifiers to be the best for small closed in spaces. And since the Pro Breeze works as well as any other, and since I know it will eventually need to be replaced, and most importantly that it is more cost friendly then any of the others, I'll keep buying these.

Good for use in the gun safe
It arrived not "charged". It's been plugged in 17 hours so far and they all are not showing orange there are still some green balls in there. There also is a orange substance on the outside of the unit which appears to have leaked onto the manual also I have no idea what this is. It looks like the crystals inside are coming out of the back, see the pictures. However I have not seen any particles fall out of the unit. The online description for recharge time is different than what the manual that came with it says. I measured it at 137° while "recharging". I'm a little apprehensive of leaving something this hot against an outlet on a flammable wall. It is plugged into an extension cord sitting on a aluminum cookie sheet to prevent a possible fire. Just doesn't seem right to leave something that's hot up against the wall plug into an outlet. It seems to need recharging frequently. It is in my gun safe which is not completely sealed. But it is in a air-conditioned home in a suburb of Phoenix Arizona where it is extremely dry. It takes 24 to 36 hours to "recharge" it Update August 24 I have since ordered another one of these for the price they work well. Our use them in my gun safe to keep it dry during the humid monsoon season in Phoenix. Gun safe is not airtight so I bought another unit to put in there so one can be recharging well one is in the safe. They do collect a lot of humidity quickly and they take about 36 hours to recharge The issue with the crystals coming out I haven't noticed that as much as before.

Does nothing..
I own a bearded dragon and have been struggling with her humidity. After tons of research this came to be the best for what I needed. I had it for a total of 20 days and it did NOTHING. The beads never changed. They stayed orange and her humidity never went down a degree. I’m sending it back for a refund and ordering a different brand that was supposedly 2nd best but had 20,000 more reviews. Maybe it was just defective, but I’m not taking a chance of switching and having the same issue.

Dehydrator is easy to renew
This dehydrator is great. I've had 3 of these units in my large Champion safe (measures 60"x36"x26" OD) for some months now and the indicator on the dehydrator tells me they are absorbing moisture. They are refreshed by plugging them into a 120v outlet and leaving them for 24 hours or so, at which point the indicator turns orange (indicates it is refreshed) again. I have two issues with these units. First, the indicator is difficult to read. When you first get them, it is unclear if they need recharging out-of-the-box or not. And as they absorb moisture, the indicator is difficult to read as to when refreshing is needed, so I may be refreshing them more often than needed. Second, their moisture capacity seems to be on the small side. I ended up buying a total of 4 of these for my safe, which is a good size safe but well sealed. I do get into the safe 5-7 times a week, which, of course, lets moisture in, which could be why 4 units are needed for my application (in fairness, I do not need to refresh these but once every 3-4 months, so I might be under-estimating their capacity; my local humidity in the house is normally around 35-40%, by the way). I like these a lot and after buying my first 2 units, I bought 2 more so I didn't have to refresh them as often. I would definitely buy these again.

Recharge may or may not work for you, try a few times.
After trying to recharge it a few more times it did eventually seem to work and the pellets inside changed back to a lighter color. It still takes a while to recharge it and it still gets hotter than I would like but it does possibly work. If you have issues like I did try recharging it a few times and giving it time to rest between recharges. *** Original review So technically this product did absorb water in the air but it only did it once. I plugged it in to try and refresh it and after 2 days it is still not done... It is VERY warm though, uncomfortably warm. I could barely hold it in my hand when I took it off the plug which is not a good sign. I know it needs to heat up to recharge but this was very hot. I tested it with a laser thermometer about 15 minutes after unplugging it and it was 135F all over it, which means it was much hotter 15 minutes prior... I am thinking at least 150F if not more. Be very careful when handling this unit. The beads did slightly change color but most in the sight window remained black even after 2 days plugged in. Does not seem to be a good unit. The amount of heat produced really worries me and the fact that it would need to be plugged in 24/7 for 3+ days to fully recharge... That is a house fire waiting to happen. Looks like I wasted my money on this.

I am buying 3 more!!!
So easy to use, charge with a wall outlet. Orange means use me, green means charge me. I haven't gotten to dark green. I use this in my soap curing storage box, sucks up the water, shortens my curing time by 2 weeks. I check on my soaps weekly and charge this device when I do, some pieces are light green at this time and some are orange still. I charge for about 2-3 hours and pop him right back into the box again. Best little thing ever!

Easy to use, Inexpensive, Effective
I love that this is a small, inexpensive product. I purchased 3 of them for areas in my house, two are closets that border the guest bathroom and the AC unit. I have only had to recharge it once so far. they seem to last almost a week in the two moist areas; longer in the dryer area. I was a little concerned when I removed the units from charging and they were warm, but I realized that's how the fluid is removed from the unit. It is simple and easy to use. I would recommend this product.
