What crimp tool is needed to crimp these?

Make sure to use a crimped for coated connectors. If you puncture the coating they will no longer be waterproof. If that doesn't matter the regular butt connectors are way cheaper. Use these for wet applications and marine for sure.

Hair dryer, heat gun, lighter, mini torch all work.

Very hard to get good result with soldering iron. A small torch if you have one would be better. Heat gun is the right tool.
