BOSS Audio Systems BVCP9700A-C Car Stereo System - Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 7 Inch Double Din, Touchscreen, Bluetooth Audio and Calling Head Unit, Radio Receiver, No CD Player, Backup Camera

This is (would have been) a great head unit for my 2011 Mustang, but the connections in the back were not good, so the power would not stay on. I contacted Boss Audio tech support and they agreed to exchange it with another unit, but this model was not in stock, so they send me one that has all the same features, just a bit of a different look. The new unit works fine and is a big improvement over the original SYNC 1 system in the car. The unit also came with a nice backup camera that attaches to the license plate and it works great. I used this Boss unit with a Metra interface which I also got from Amazon. They work perfectly together.

My screen keeps turning on and off the volume button. Don't work. And sometimes It don't even turn on Like to return it for another one. , I buy two of them. My second one works perfectly

My wife's 2011 Nissan Sentra severely needed an audio upgrade. She got spoiled by having carplay in our other car and decent quality audio for phone calls. This thing came in to save the day at a decent price point. I know there are other head units for almost half the price of this one... but I really didn't want to risk going through the work of installing a radio system to find out it has a crappy GUI and/or terrible sound quality. The installation for this went as expected (if you've ever done a radio install). Took me about 6-8 hours total with looking up video guides, routing wiring, and getting everything tested out. Cons: I had to take 1 star off for this, but would have only taken a half star if possible... The mic that came with this had the crappiest little mount, I'm pretty sure it was broken out of the box, but even if it wasn't, it was really flimsy. I was able to route the mic up the left windshield pillar and gave it enough tension that it sits reasonably well between where pillar and the roofline meet. Once installed, I called my wife and she confirmed everything sounded nice and clear. If I were to add any other cons. I think the wiring that comes off the included camera could have been longer. Although this might have been particular to the Sentra. To get it all connected properly, I had to cut the wiring and extend it so I could route it out of the trunk lid and through the grommets that go into the trunk. It wasn't really that big of a deal, but added more work than I expected for this portion. Pros: We'll see what the wife says after a few weeks, but I think the interface is perfect. Not flashy, not too plain, it just has all the essentials laid out simply, and the settings area is the same. I hate products that overcomplicate settings, or has a wonky UI that wasn't thought out and has a bunch of weird quirks or menu's that weren't vetted by native speakers. The sound! Holy crap the sound. I knew a replacement head unit might product better sound than the stock unit, but wow, even without a sub, in my wife's very stock 2011 Sentra, you can really get the bass bumpin when you turn the 'loud' mode on. I think I may still replace her speakers as certain mid frequencies sound a little tinny, but the quality of sound improvement surprised me. The screen: I haven't driven around in varied conditions yet, but in our driveway the screen looks pretty good day and night. The response time and feel on the finger tips feels nice. It's definitely a higher resolution screen than what we have in our 2021 Hyundai, which I found surprising. Backup Camera: This seems like a really basic no frills camera. I have a feeling we'll need to tighten the screw that holds its angle in place. Overall though, it does the job and is really helpful to have.

Nice system until the sound stops working. I had issues with the sound not working right after installing this unit but it started working so I thought it was good. Big mistake this unit will work about 30 minutes a then will go in and out. I contacted Boss customer service but they were no help. I would recommend steering clear of this unit.

If you’ve installed car audio equipment before this will be a easy job. I installed this in my 07 expedition and it fits and looks great. The touch screen is responsive and clear, the quality of the materials feels nice. The interface is kinda boring but livable and you’ll more than likely be using android auto or Apple CarPlay anyway so no dings on that. The sound is nice and loud but the EQ and level options could use a lot of help but I haven’t dove all the way into it so I’ll hold off on singing this category. My biggest gripe is that their is no helpful instructions on installing the backup cam luckily YouTube has tons of videos on this. All in all I give this product a solid 10/10 on my must buy list due to its value, features, it includes the backup camera, easy installation and overall appearance. Please note however the supplied backup camera cord WILL NOT be long enough for a full size SUV (expedition, Tahoe, Suburban etc) Amazon does however sell cords up to 67ft which will be more than sufficient. If you’re on the fence about buying this radio just relax and go ahead and get it you won’t be disappointed.

I have had this installed in my truck for a year now. In that time, it's had multiple glitches. Sometimes the screen goes blank for no reason. It will intermittently lock up and have to do a reboot. Especially in the cold, and I live in Texas. So it doesn't get that cold. Recently it has been having trouble switching to Android Auto when I connect my phone. When I play a video on my phone, after connecting Android Auto, if I don't play some music from an app (like Amazon Music). It will play the audio through the navigation sound setting, instead of the main sound setting. Which for some reason is separate, and quiet. No matter what I do, the navigation sound is way too quiet. Honestly, all sound should just be played through one setting,. I have had several instances where the unit has not picked up that I have turned on my headlights, and it doesn't switch to night screen settings. The screen is easily readable unless it's really bright outside. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for, and this head unit is pretty cheap.

Installed this in a 2005 Honda element if you have all of the associated wiring harnesses/adapters it makes it extremely easy. Definitely not a high-end deck. But very good for what you pay for. The Apple CarPlay was my main selling point it works very good. A lot of inputs and outputs the camera works very well. The only thing that I would have to complain about is that the frame around it is a little too small there is a little gap around the double din space but it’s not that bad. Sound quality is decent. The interface doesn’t look the best but it works. The Apple CarPlay interface works good. It will read USB and SD cards good up to 32 GB. Bluetooth integration is good. Did not come with a remote. Having two USB ports is good. Will charge your phone fairly fast. I have no major complaints.

After downsizing from a 2020 year car to a 2005, I needed some features like Bluetooth and backup camera for my new ride. This product gave me what I needed. Don't expect too much from the product, but it does what I bought it for. The backup camera is clear but may not give you the actual depth perception or steer guide. But overall worth the price.

I am using this for last 3 years without any trouble.
