Clogs up - short life
Although I like netafim products, the auto flush valve is not one of them. There is an emitter like device that allows water to flow from the supply side of the diaphragm to the other-side. This causes the other-side to fill up and close down flushing. The problem is that the emitter like device clogs up. Then water can't get to the otherside. So the flush valve never stops flushing. Changing out the guts (borrowed from another netafim flush valve) gets it working again. They should sell the diaphram as a separate item since it is a failure part. My water supply is filtered so its not because of dirty water.
