Symptoms, treatment and tips for a wide range of medical emergencies. Great for home use or the professional as a quick reference or refresher. This 6-page laminated guide covers the following topics: Common Ailments Lyme Disease Quick Tips Emergency Numbers How to Call for Help Broken/Dislocated Bones & Fractures Wounds Sprains & Strains Shock Burns & Scalds Drug Overdose Food Poisoning Convulsions Heart Attack Internal Bleeding Loss of a Body Part Stroke The Elements Poisoning Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Insects, Snakes, Spiders & Sea Creatures Plants - Poison Ivy, Oak & Sumac Head, Neck & Back Injury Choking Maneuver Hyperventilation Concussion Fainting Electrocution Review: Every home needs hands first aid or emergency information readily available. - Wonderful emergency and/or first aid information that should be readily available in every home. Laminated for long term use. Review: Nicely abbreviated course. - I've been wanting to study a little first-aid ever since I started watching the old Emergency! (paramedics) re-runs on TV lately. (I actually had a good friend in the 70s who became an ambulance driver because he was so enamored of that show. Cool!) I bought a conventional first-aid manual, but meritorious as it may be for people actually going into related fields, it was just too much minutia - I kept falling asleep in my chair, losing my place, etc. This laminated tri-fold is perfect. Easy to handle and read, lots of basic info for a variety of everyday situations. Ideal format for active study or reference later on. Backpackers will love it!

Exactly what I needed for a friend to take some health matters more seriously and to be prepared for future. Useful to read ahead before a problem developing. Go first step.

Good, but CPR not clearly indicated
The product is useful due to light weight and lamination (esp. in floods or extreme weather conditions) but a little overpriced and needs some modification. CPR is found on page 6 under choking and NOT well marked. It should be on the first page so someone in a panic can easily find it!! Also it should be made clear the product is made for the US - British residents are very unlikely to encounter fire ants or a coral snake and they won't brush against poison ivy either in the UK. Lastly, it would be incredibly useful but wishful thinking if the guide included a recommendation for homeopathic Arnica to be taken in all cases of shock or blood clots. It has saved the day in our and our friends' household more times than I can recount, also our pets.

Good, basic first aid details
It's not a comprehensive guide to first aid, but I like that it covers most major emergency situations and gives you clear, concise instructions to help deal with injuries. Waterproof coating is durable and great for camping, too. There are more detailed guides, but this is perfect for a first aid kit so you have the basics all in one easy-to-read place.
