This easy-to-follow book shows youngsters and other would-be artists how to use simple shapes to draw realistic likenesses of nature’s loveliest blossoms. Simple step-by-step diagrams make it easy to draw 30 different types of flowers, including daisies, bluebells, buttercups, roses, tulips, violets, morning glories, daffodils, pansies, zinnias, and many others. Once the drawings are completed, students can color them to create lovely effects. They can also combine drawings of several flowers on one sheet of paper to produce a beautiful bouquet they’ll be proud to show family and friends. Review: Great Product! - Perfect! It was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a book that takes a beginner like me and walks me through, step-by-step, to drawing something simple, accurate and beautiful that I can use in everyday life like on cards, notes, letters, journal entries or entertaining children. I HIGHLY recommend it. This book increases slightly in difficulty as the reader/drawer progresses through the pages of 30 flowers including the Rose, Daisy, Lily of the Valley, Poinsettia, Tulip, Easter Lilly, Sunflower, Daffodil, Orchid, Carnation, Buttercup, Pansy and Violet. I found that the skills from one flower build to the next one. As I practiced with the first flower, it helped me learn skills for the second. It's clear and very user friendly; so long as I am paying attention and using patience with myself as I learn. I definitely use my eraser as I go. In my opinion, the flower shown on the front cover is a fairly accurate "average" of complexity for drawing. Some of the flowers are more simple to learn than that one and some are more advanced. I was happy with my results in drawing the first flower (Evening Primrose)after about 10 minutes. Then the second flower (Buttercup) was a little more difficult, but the practice from the first made it smoother. I was comfortable drawing the Buttercup in a little less than 15 minutes. The quality that I learned to draw on these two flowers, in a few minutes, has enough beauty and elegance that I'd be glad to put either of them on a party invitation or a family newsletter. I also feel confident that I could easily show others how to draw them. The designs also have a simplicity about them so that I could color them with a crayon, pencil or marker in a minute or less. Very versatile. I've never been a drawing artist although I've always wanted to learn. I'm just starting. I like this book. Review: This is fun! - All the things in the book that it has you to draw are broken down into several steps. After you follow each step you end up with a flower. It's really great. They say you can be taught to draw, that it is not something your born with. After going through this book (several times) I think it might just be possible. I have always wanted to draw but I have NO talent along those lines but after following these steps I did have a fairly nice flower and each time I follow the steps again the flower looks a little more like a flower. It's really been fun. If you've ever wanted to draw this book WILL help. Good Luck and have fun!

Nice book for children.
My oldest daughter loves to draw and enjoys this series of how to draw books. I will say that I don't think this book is for someone who does not know how to draw at all. This is for a child who is good at drawing an image they see. There is not much step by step instruction. If your child is extremely gifted at drawing, this might be too easy. I think this is best for a child that falls in the middle. Over all the quality is nice and I am pleased with my purchase. I just wish that it broke the drawings down into more steps. I would suggest looking at the inside pages of this book on amazon before purchasing is possible.

Great for learning to draw flowers
Very cute. My 6 year old loves this. I would say it is right for her age. The book shows lots of different types of flowers and 3 or 4 steps to draw the final picture. You also get one practice page per drawing, but continual practice can easily be done on different blank sheets of paper. Great for Art class!

Budding artists
We have two sisters among our grandchildren, who are budding artists. Purchased several books about learning to draw basics for them to share with the one on drawing flowers, advance to Drawing animals, and now people and faces. The processes shown have guided them into doing much more. A great beginning for those interested in drawing art

Great for beginners
I bought this book as a gift for a 90+ year-old lady in a nursing home. She loves to draw and paint, but was having trouble with flowers. This book taught her a lot, and she's having great fun with it.

Flowers are pretty
I love this book. My 5-year old loves drawing and this is a book that he loves to use. He mostly just draws a flower for me. But it is easy to follow the pics in the book. It is definately for someone who loves to draw and can follow instructions. The book has Flower on the left page, and empty page on the right side. I wish that there was no blank page, as it leaves the opportunity for the kids to color in the book when I only want to use it as a resource book and not a coloring book.
