Game-changer for healthier eating
This is a quality product for people who are steaming on a regular basis. It's much easier than using a steamer and a pot on the stove-top for me. I like that I can see what's going on, so I'm less likely to overcook delicate veggies. The steamer holds more than a typical stove-top one which is really helpful and steams much more evenly. I do stay close by but there is less babysitting and less ruined food. It's very easy to use. I have used distilled and spring water and haven't noticed a difference. My two complaints about the water reservoir are that a) it's plastic and b) it can't really be opened up for cleaning. Maybe that seems unnecessary but I'd like the option. It works fast. The pre-set options work well although you really have to watch it. Mostly, I have steamed potatoes, green-beans, carrots and the like. For people who appreciate 'just-enough,' steamed veggies and delicate foods you will enjoy the precision and evenness of cooking this brings. Overall I am very satisfied and I believe this appliance is helping to improve my family's and my diet and therefore our quality of life. I actually feel that most veggies are more delicious and enjoyable steamed vs other harsher cooking methods but I HATED dealing with the stove-top steamers that always seemed so fussy and too much work. I now have no excuse to NOT steam my food: it's faster and easier than any other cooking method! I have discovered some new 'recipes too,' that helped me to enjoy old favorites in new ways. For instance broccoli rabe was a bit of a delicacy in my house, not just for flavor but because of the long process for cooking. The end result was delicious but often greasy and as mentioned very time-consuming and tedious, not to mention messy. Well, spontaneously I decided to try steaming it. I just took the bunches and plopped them on the tray closed the lid and hit start. They came out tender, flavorful and ready to eat in but a few mins! No oil or salt. We can now enjoy this delicious and nutritious veggie on a much more regular basis and I never have to worry about using it in time or not. This is just the beginning. I will be enjoying and trying new things with my new favorite appliance for a long time. One more note.. if you can find appropriate heat-proof containers that will fit I have reheated food in this.. it was not entirely cold but seems to have good results. There will be moisture accumulation if the food is exposed vs closed but reminds me of when I used to use my IP for reheating foods vs microwave or stovetop, etc. this method is much gentler though. And if you are steaming veggies water does collect at the bottom of the container and you can use that as a light broth or flavoring liquid in your recipes. Just be sure to rinse after each use. I left it once for a day or two after steaming veggies and the smell was horredous. Came right out though after washing. Be careful with the tray if you are handwashing, the perforations are sharp and I did cut myself.

Buy this steamer!
Fantastic device! Easy to use and very easy to clean. Great with fish and chicken. To reduce fat, I even cooked hamburger patties we had in the freezer then crumbled them with rice. Wife has gallbladder issues so low, or no, fat cooking is essential and this thing does the job. Probably one of the most useful things in the kitchen and I use it at least 3 or 4 times weekly. I do have some serious suggestions for Cuisinart though. 1) Tilt the display screen so I don't have to keep bending over to check times. 2) Add an option to manually set 3 or 4 times; i.e. cook 15 minutes then beep; cook 15 more minutes then beep; cook another 10 minutes then beep, for a total cook time of 40 minutes. 3) Put a speed dial on the knob. It takes a long time to crank up to 40 minutes. 4) Print approx steaming time or at least a measurement on the reservoir. I use only distilled water so that would save a bit.

Excellent steamer
This took a while to ship and arrive but it is well worth the wait. The steaming platter is long and holds a good amount of vegetables that steam evenly. I like that there is a water reservoir in the back. I used it to steam rice once as well which was decent but needs some tweaking. It does take up a chunk of counter space but is a pretty product so I don't mind. Very easy to clean, just two pieces to clean and the food does not seem to stick to them.

Great Steamer with Add-on
Great steamer with many uses, but I made a minor adjustment for "small" foods. The metal tray that comes with is great for large items or fish or anything that doesn't need to be "poured" into a bowl (like peas, green beans, diced potatoes, etc). I decided to pair my Oxo silicone steaming basket with this, and it worked great! The handles don't get as hot as they do in a pot (just tuck them in), and I still have the safety and reassurance of being able to see when I'm running out of water - a great feature with this unit that audibly notifies you (much safer than a pot). And you can fill it without interrupting your cooking! Time to cook is only a few mins longer than steaming in a pot, and you can fit more in this (usually). I got lazy and steamed diced potatoes without a tray and then just mashed them with the water that built up in dish. Very versatile unit!

We LOVE This Steamer!
We absolutely LOVE this steamer!!! We love that it is glass & not plastic above everything else about this steamer & there are so many pluses. It is extremely versatile, from being able to steam so many different types of foods, custards, rice, pastas, shellfish, hot dogs, vegetables & the list goes on! We use this almost every single day of the week, the steamer basket is reversible, it’s super easy to clean. I do not put the steamer basket in the dishwasher; a soft cloth & mild dish soap does the job on all 3 pieces in a matter of minutes. I also do not fill the water tank with tap water, I use the filtered water from our zero water pitcher. It fits perfectly on the counter next to the stove, we use it too often to take it in & out of a cabinet; it’s a well made appliance & comes with a trusted name for me anyway! It comes with a manual setting, which we’ve ended up using quite a bit after trying some of the settings it comes with & learning some foods need a few more minutes & others need a few less minutes depending on your taste. Over all it’s well worth the price, I don’t like getting or giving an appliance for a present, but I know several people who are getting this for Christmas!

The Ultimate Upgrade for Healthy Cooking: Safe, Smart, and Perfect Results!
We are absolutely thrilled with the Cuisinart STM-1000. This steamer is truly a game-changer for anyone serious about healthy eating, and it immediately elevates our kitchen setup. The build quality is superior, especially the 5-liter glass cooking pot. Using glass instead of plastic is a huge benefit—it's super easy to clean, completely safe (BPA-free!), and it looks elegant on the counter. The capacity is fantastic; we can easily steam large portions of fish, chicken, and a whole assortment of vegetables simultaneously, perfect for family dinners. The superior top-down steaming system is what makes the difference, ensuring everything cooks evenly and quickly. The digital controls are intuitive, and the 5 pre-programmed settings (especially the seafood and grains modes) deliver perfect, worry-free results every single time. The Pause/Reheat buttons are clever additions for maximum convenience. This appliance is worth every penny and highly recommended for perfect, effortless, healthy cooking!

A much needed upgrade
(TLDR at the bottom) After using my old steamer for about 3 years it was literally breaking apart and disintegrating, initially I intended to simply replace it with another 30 to 40 dollar run of the mill steamer. But then I thought that just means in another 2 or 3 years I will most likely be replacing that steamer again, plus why is this plastic breaking apart? Is that going into my food??? So I decided to look into glass steamers. I steam a ton of veggies and use the best produce I can get a hold of so I figured it wouldnt hurt to upgrade plus after a short while plastic steamers tend to stink. This steamer was kind of the only option on amazon for glass so I felt a little limited and there is sticker shock over the price, yet I reminded myself that this would be a heavily used appliance meant to last me at least 10 years ideally (maybe even longer...?) as opposed to the 2 or 3 you get out of cheaper models so I took the plunge! I read the instructions out of the box from start to finish and found this steamer quite easy to use. Its simple to clean and honestly my veggies smell nicer while cooking and are perfectly steamed and evenly cooked at 10 minutes on the vegetable setting, my greens still retain their "poofy" look as opposed to looking damp and limp. It's very fancy and I feel like a proper veggie lover, it really is top notch! I can't think of anything negative to say about it. It is a little big but it is pretty so I won't complain :) I would say buy this if you already know that you will for sure use it or you just have the money to buy the best the first time around. You can also look at it like an investment same as how people will buy a nice set of pots and pans, since its what they will petty much use on the regular. I've owned a steamer of some kind or another for years and I know I will use it, I already have used it quite a bit and I've only had it for a week! Tldr- it's nice and I like it.

Beware! Product voltage not for Asia 220V
Beware! Product voltage is not meant for Asia & seller did not state it in the product descriptions. I had to go through the hassle of returning it. And I have yet to receive my refund.

Great Steamer
A high-end countertop steamer. Looks awesome, easy to operate, and the food tastes great. Compared to the Hamilton Beach one I had before, the steam comes out much faster, and the all-glass removable main container is super easy to clean. One drawback is that if steaming something in a bowl, it cannot be directly put below the outlet of steam, or a lot of water will accumulate in the container. My only concern for now is how it handles the hardness in tap water after long term use.

Terrible product— broke immediately
Turned on once and then never again. What a waste of money— straight in the rubbish. Had a US plug and we used our adapter for Australian electric outlets. You should not sell to Australia if your product can’t be used in Australia even with an adapter— it’s unethical.

Excelente producto
