Crackle with bass

Initially I liked these as an upgrade to the stock tweeters in my car. It might be that they’re mounted in the dash and they get hit by the sun, but now they crackle with too much volume and bass in the eq. If I keep the eq flat they’re fine, but I’d like the option to dial up some bass if I want
