Is the bottom secure in anyway or does it just flap freely?

It is secured at the bottom. You screw in a hook on each side of the door and the edges of the bottom bar slides into the hooks

Can this be used on an out swing door?

Thank you for your interest in Secret Screen pull-down screen doors.Yes, you can install the screen on the inside of a door if the door swingsoutward, so it would not interfere with the door opening. If that is thecase, then you can install the pull-down screen door if there is enoughroom, at least 1 inch, underneath the top door frame in front of the jamb toinstall the mounting clips. My door is exactly 36" wide.  Will this screen fit inside of it?

Hi. Thank you for your interest in Secret Screen pull-down screen doors. The screen will be 1/8" narrower than the width you order.  Go with the largest width screen you can so that you get a better closure.  Measure your door opening top, bottom, and middle to make sure that it will accommodate the wider size. Otherwise, you will need to go down to the next smaller width screen. If you do get the screen and determine it is the wrong size, we will exchange it for you, no problem.
