Mostly impressive for budget cells
Amazon Basics AAA Rechargeable Batteries (850 mAh, NiMH) — Tested Capacity, Performance & Matching ResultsI tested a full 12-pack of these AAA rechargeable NiMH batteries after a couple months of normal use in kids toys and various gadgets using a charge/discharge/charge analysis cycle, and the results were consistently strong, well above the rated capacity, with only one weaker outlier.Test Setup* ISDT N8 Series smart battery charger* Full analysis cycle (charge → discharge → recharge)* 0.3A charge/discharge rate* 0.90V cutoff voltage* Temperature range: 28°C – 33°CMeasured Results* Average Capacity: 1,079 mAh* Highest: 1,171 mAh* Lowest: 964 mAhAll cells exceeded the rated 850 mAh capacity, with most landing comfortably above 1,100 mAh, which is excellent performance for AAA NiMH batteries in this price range.Internal Resistance & Performance* Average: 193 mΩ* Most cells: 180–200 mΩ* One outlier: higher resistance, lowest capacityLower internal resistance helps with performance meaning less voltage sag in high-drain devices like controllers, camera accessories, and other electronics.Cell Matching Results:After testing, I grouped the batteries by performance:* Top tier (7 cells): high capacity, closely matched* Mid tier (4 cells): slightly lower capacity but still good* 1 outlier: lower capacity and higher resistanceThis is typical for budget rechargeable batteries but still allows for multiple well-matched sets. What Stands Out* Consistently exceeds rated capacity* Good overall cell matching* Only one weak cell in the pack* Works well for both high-drain and everyday devicesFinal ThoughtsThese Amazon Basics AAA rechargeable batteries are a solid high-capacity option at a very reasonable price. With basic matching and rotation, they can deliver performance close to more expensive brands. The cons to this being that this is effort you generally don’t have to expend with more expensive premium Japanese made cells. However, if the cost savings are worth it to you these are a great value for the money and outperform a lot of the other Chinese-made budget cells. Some of whom wildly overstate their actual capacity.Rating: 4.5 / 5 (Can’t give half a star Amazon rating. Hence the five star rating)Please note: All NiMH rechargeable batteries have a break-in period when new. This is usually 3-5 full charge/discharge cycles (premium low self discharge Japanese-made cells generally only need one or two cycles). A good smart charger with a “refresh” or “activation” function can do this for you (it can take several hours) or it will naturally happen over time as you use them. This just means that capacity will increase after break-in so rechargeable batteries aren’t necessarily defective if they don’t meet their rated capacity straight out of the package. Why grouping similar performing batteries, if possible, makes a difference in real-world performance. When using rechargeable batteries in devices that use multiple batteries like controllers the load is shared by both batteries. Pairing a strong cell with a higher capacity and lower resistance with a weaker lower capacity higher resistance cell means the weaker cell is going to deplete and drop voltage faster. The stronger cell ends up shouldering more of the workload. This all means you get less time between recharges. None of this, of course, is strictly necessary, but if possible analyzing and grouping together similar performing batteries will increase their lifespans and give you more usage time between recharges. Once again not strictly necessary but something to note.

These meet expectations
These AAA’s work great. No problems recharging. I’ve had a pair in a Roku remote for nearly a year. I use them to power a wireless mouse and keyboard for about the same time. When using in my headlamps they last for hours without needing a charge. Unlike the AA’s, these are the same size as a typical non-rechargeable AAA. The AA’s are slightly wider than your typical AA. They put out 1.2v rather than the standard 1.5v so some equipment may not work with them, but I haven’t ran into that issue. I would buy them again if I need to. They absolutely save money in the long run

Exceed Rated Capacity
Wow, was I surprised. I bought this AAA 24-pack mainly because they were a great sale price. They were received more-or-less half charged. I charged the first 16 pretty quickly in my 8-slot charger., reserving eight for testing. On one, I did a run-time test with an Olight i3E EOS one-cell, AAA, 90 lumen flashlight that is rated for 45 minutes with an alkaline battery. I've gotten runtimes in the past with a NiMH battery of about 60 minutes, and 70 minutes with a 3600 mWh lithium ion battery. With this 850 mAh Amazon Basics battery I got 70 minutes at full brightness and then 20 more minutes at progressively lower brightness before it winked out. The other seven batteries to test I put on my Tenergy 456 charger/tester to do a full charge/discharge/recharge cycle. ALL seven batteries exceeded the rated capacity, with six of them exceeding 900 mAh capacity. I'm super amazed since few of the various batteries sold through Amazon rated at 1,100 mAh check out even as high as 900 mAh. They also came well assembled and nicely packaged. BTW, the ones I received are not marked "High Capacity" but they are marked 850 mAh. That makes me think that Amazon may have more than one company making these for them, so your mileage may vary.

Great Performance
I have a few phone handsets whose rechargeable batteries needed to be replaced due to performance issues. I ended up giving these a try and they work great! They hold their charge well under daily use. I easily get three days use on a full charge. I'm happy!

These work great. I use them for PIR sensor led lights.
I purchased battery powered PIR sensor led lights here on Amazon. They take four batteries each and I have three of them. That's twelve batteries I'd need to power them all. Amazon Basics 24-pack AAA NiMH gives me batteries to power them all with extras. They seem to hold a charge good. I can run my PIR sensor led lights for about a week in the kitchen before they become dim. That's a high traffic area and those lights come on every time I'm near the kitchen cabinets.

Reliable backup power for my Zoom F8n Pro
I bought these rechargeable AA batteries specifically to use as backup power in my Zoom F8n Pro field recorder. My recorder is normally powered from a V-mount battery via a Hirose cable, but having these installed means the recorder stays powered while I swap V-mount batteries, so there's no interruption to recordings or timecode. They've been completely reliable in that role. The recorder seamlessly switches to the internal AA batteries during a battery change and then back to external power once the new V-mount is connected. It's a simple setup, but one that's saved me from having to stop and restart recordings. The batteries hold their charge well and have performed consistently every time I've needed them. Although they spend most of their time sitting inside the recorder as a backup power source, they've always had enough capacity to do exactly what's required when the external power is disconnected.I've also found them to recharge without any issues, and after repeated charge cycles they haven't shown any noticeable drop in performance. If you're using a Zoom F8n Pro or any other recorder that accepts AA batteries alongside external power, these are an excellent choice. They've given me confidence that I can swap my V-mount batteries during a shoot without risking an unexpected shutdown, and for that reason alone they've been well worth buying.
