Works as expected, but prepare yourself
As a preface: I consider myself a veteran of the "custom DIY" foam struggle. My previous attempt involved hand-cutting poster board and foam in 90-degree heat while solo-installing an 80lb, 12,000 BTU beast. Because that rushed job was subpar, my New England winter was full of unacceptable drafts and a humidifier that couldn't keep up. Since I refuse to lug that 80lb unit to a basement storage in another building every year, I needed a real solution. This kit was it. It took me about 1.5 hours. Be warned: the materials are soft, squishy foam with vinyl backing. It is not "fun" to cut, especially trimming down millimeters of soft material because you don't like how it looks on the test fit. For most people, you'll likely be restricted to scissors and/or a utility knife. - I recommend ditching the scissors.. Scissors will compress the foam before actually cutting, leading to jagged edges. Use a utility knife with multiple light passes. Let the blade do the work, or you’ll bunch the foam and end up with a mess (or a bandage). - I recommend cutting 1/8" (inch) wider/taller than your actual measurement. I tried 2/8" at first, and it looked like a crumpled accordion in the test fit. 1/8" inch provides a perfect, snug "wedge" fit. - I actually found the adhesive unnecessary; the pieces fit so snugly that they stayed in place on their own. The quality is good for what it is. The thickness is legitimately sufficient to keep the frigid New England air outside where it belongs. It costs about the same as my failed "custom" setup but looks significantly less "unsightly." Value is definitely here. Bonus: My window frame is 32.5", and AC is 24" wide. The 36" kit yielded me enough extra materials to insulate the bottom of the AC as well. Godspeed with your installations. May your cuts be straighter than mine.

Makes a huge difference! Highly recommend!
I live in an environment that's very muggy/humid in the summer, yet chilly in the winter... So anytime in the summer that my window unit isn't running, it feels humid in that room because of the paper thin window unit seals, and in the summer, I have to fully remove the window unit because it essentially makes my room feel like the artic tundra. This item has already made such a difference in the ONE WEEK that I've had it installed. The insulation panels are thick and secure, easy to cut, and block out all humidity from outside... So I anticipate that having this installed will also save me some money on my power bill now that A/C & heat can't seep through the window unit cracks and thin lining. I highly recommend this product! Easy to install, great look, and fair price!

Breeze Stop Side Panels: Effective Insulation for Window AC Units in All Seasons
The Breeze Stop Surround Insulation Side Panels are a practical solution designed to seal the gaps around window air conditioning units, improving both insulation and energy efficiency year-round. This product consists of two side panels (18" x 10") and a top panel (36" x 1.75") that are easy to cut and fit over the existing plastic panels of window units. The panels are made from insulating foam covered with white vinyl, which blends seamlessly with most interiors. Key Features: Effective Insulation for All Seasons: These panels help keep out cold drafts in winter and prevent heat from entering during the summer, addressing the common problem of air leakage around window AC units. By ensuring a tighter seal, they help reduce energy consumption, making your home more energy-efficient. Simple Installation: The panels are designed to be easily cut to fit various window sizes, accommodating windows up to 36 inches wide. Installation is straightforward, and they adhere well to the AC unit, creating a secure, sleek fit. Aesthetic Appeal: Unlike other makeshift solutions like towels or foam blocks, Breeze Stop panels offer a clean, built-in look that matches indoor walls. The vinyl surface is also easy to clean, making maintenance hassle-free. Durability and Performance: Made from 1-inch thick insulating foam, these panels are built to last and provide year-round insulation, helping maintain a stable indoor climate. Ideal Use: This product is especially beneficial for people who live in regions with extreme seasonal temperature changes, as it enhances both the cooling and heating efficiency of window AC units. Final Thoughts: The Breeze Stop Insulation Kit is a well-designed, cost-effective solution for anyone looking to improve their window air conditioning setup, whether in the sweltering heat of summer or the chilly drafts of winter. It is user-friendly, blends aesthetically with home decor, and provides long-lasting insulation. While a bit pricier than some DIY options, its durability and clean finish make it a worthwhile investment for energy savings and comfort.

Smart, nice looking, well-thought out solution to common issue.
The ubiquitous air conditioner accordion-style side panels are terrible. As designed, they fail to keep heat, cold, wind, or bugs out of the living space. One unfortunately needs a third-party solution to fix the problem. The Breeze Stop “Surround Insulation Side Panels” are a well-thought-out solution to this surprisingly common issue. The linked instruction video was straightforward and informative. When assembled in the window, the panels look sharp, clean, and professional. The thick foam panels keep out bugs, wind, and climate. They were a pleasure to install. From opening the package to admiring the installation took 10 minutes. A kit like this should be a standard part of any air conditioner package. Note - I used the offcuts to close the gap between the underside of the air conditioner and the window sill.

Everyone with a window unit needs one of these!
Works and looks much better than the accordion style window cover that window units come with. You can tell the temperature in the room is more stable and insulates the sounds from outside.

I had installed an air conditioner in my window and the side plastic panels did not do the trick to seal it well. I ordered this and it took me a bit of patience but is perfect.
