I ordered one how-to book play the flute book from desertcart and it just wasn’t what I needed. But then I stumbled across this book !!! Perfect for students in an actual band class, beginners or someone wanting to learn again. It’s easy to understand, they have wonderful introductory information about each note on every page. Plus a visual fingering graph for each note introduced. Then, I signed into the online portion using the code that comes with your book. The online part allows you to hear the notes being played and gives you the option to record your practice times. Plus all of the songs that’s in the book are also online so you can hear it or just play along once you get the hang of it. This book feels like I’m sitting next to my middle school band teacher, Mr. Myrick!! Forget those other how-to-play - the flute books and get this book!! I’m certain you want be disappointed. I haven’t even opened my flute yet( it’s my Christmas gift, still wrapped under the tree😜) but I just know this book will get me back to at least where I left off. I’m so excited!! Review: The Best Beginner Books for Beginners - When I originally played the clarinet a little over 20 years ago, my band director at the time told all music students to get this book for our respective instruments. Now, as I am relearning the clarinet, I have reached for this book again. I have also begin learning the flute and have a purchased a copy for the flute. Let me tell you, these books are incredible for young students and at-home learners. New notes and information are present in bite-size pieces, so you will not be overloaded with new notes and except to retain it all. What really makes these books even powerful now is the interactive online platform that Essential Elements offers. I have played around with the Sound Check in the Music Studio and it is such a helpful feature of anyone who is learning in school or like me an adult learning solo at-home. I love the immediate feedback and scores that come with it. I love seeing what I need to work on and what I am getting right. That to me is so much better than the CD that came with the book all those years ago. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is learning a musical instrument!

This is just what I needed!!! I’m getting ready to attempt to learn how to play the flute again after 30+years! Excellent guide
I have a number of flute and piccolo guides to assist in learning various key fingerings. The Essential Elements Books for Flute (book 1, book 2, book 3) are all excellent guides! Book 1 comes along with a CD and a DVD. The CD has tutorials to help build your listening skills and it has a piano accompaniment to ensure those skills are "tight". Book 2 comes along with a separate CD with the same purpose in mind, but you will have to order this as it is a separate fee for the two-disc CD set. Not expensive, but is a nuisance to find which vendor sells this double disc set. Book 3 is for advance, skillful in key fingering techniques with rapid progression. (By the way, Book 2's double disc CD has the tracks which includes practices in Book 3.) There is a load of helpful information in all three books to assist the learning in attaining confidence, capability and structure in flute playing. I highly recommend The Essential Elements Books for Flute. It does not hurt to use these guides with the assistance of a one and one tutor. There's no way we can do without a professional flutist's (or any instrumentalist's in that matter) guidance. Happy fluting!

Dobry do nauczania gry na flecie
Korzystam z tego podręcznika jako nauczyciel podstaw gry na flecie poprzecznym. Pod każdym względem znakomita metoda nauki dla początkujących. Książka ma (w zależności od wersji) płytę lub materiał do pobrania online (przy pomocy dołączonego kodu) z podkładami. Ja jestem zachwycony i moi uczniowie także. Książka, w prosty sposób zapoznaje młodych muzyków (choć nie tylko bo dorosłych też) z teorią muzyki i wprowadza ich w świat gry na flecie poprzecznym.

Muy práctico y dinámico
Hace 17 años ocupé el de clarinete y así aprendí música. Ahora estoy con la flauta transversal, y no soy profesional pero me funciona muy bien porque las piezas son dinámicas y conocidas o amigables, las posiciones claras y los ejercicios van progresivamente. Si quieren que sus hijos aprendan música creo que es un buen método para calentamiento (warm-up) 🎼 😊🙌🏼
