I have to admit this is a great set, I was worried a bit at first, I got these for work with Polymer clay and I wasn't too sure if they were right for it, But they are great. The only issue I've run into is sometimes on white clay it seems to leave metal coloring marks on it now and then. But I think a good hot water scrubbing (something I should have done as soon as I got them.) will solve that. You get all the tools pictured. in a nice roll up case for travel or storage, And they seem pretty heavy duty, I dropped mine on the floor and one got stepped on by a heavy work boot while we were moving, So I think they can stand up to quite alot of wear and tear depending if your doing clay, Or pottery or whatever you may buy them for. And although the case is nice for storage and travel, I'd buy and extra case or a cup to keep them in at all other times because where some of them are sharp, I see the plastic case getting damaged if they were pulled in and out alot. All and all I'm happy, And i feel it was worth what I spent.

Even though I rated them under the toy catagories, they are not toys for those under the age of 13 and even then they should be supervised by a parent for awhile so that they understand that these tools can be dangerous to folks who aren't careful. Some of the ends on the picks are just the same as dental picks and scrapers. I do think they can be an educational experience, be very durable, and alot of fun after learning how to use them and what they can do for both baked and not baked polyclay. This is an awesome set of carving tools for clay. They are listed as carving tools for wax, but I am sure there are multiple uses only limited by the imagination of those who use them. There are 12 total and they are double ended so you will get 24 different tools. There are scoops, knifes, picks, paddles (spatulas) and many more. I highly recommend them for claywork and I am impressed with the quality of these items at less than $8.00.

Great product

I have purchased multiple sets of these over the last few months, and I was highly impressed by the quality of my first set. Far better then I was expecting for the price. They have a very solid construction, enough that you can use them as pry bars (for opening paint cans and such). The second set I ordered however was disappointing compared to the first. The edges on tools were malformed and razor sharp where they definitely should not have been. The edges remind me of what happens when you overfill or crack a mold, though I can not say for sure they are molded at all. Since the issue is the excess material, it is fixable if you have the right tools. A metal grinding wheel makes quick work of the malformed edges. If you do not have one, a hand dremel with sandpaper or a grinding bit works well. Assuming you have incredible patience, a hand file works too. Once ground down the second set was just as usable as the first, but you need either a steady hand or a jig of some sort if you want them to look just like the non-malformed ones. Overall I would recommend this, if your willing to risk getting a bad set that is, but at this price I think its worth it.

The best quality at the best price I have found ... So far! These are shiny - no rust on tools and packaging. These come with plastic sleeving around the tips of the sharpest and most 'pointy' tools to prevent them from digging their way out of their storage package. That storage packaging rolls up to a small pocket sized bundle and snaps shut to help prevent their loss. The knurling is highly raised: offering excellent grip. There are no burrs or chips and these are well polished - a sculptor's delight! Ready to use! Made in India by the famous brand SE® - Set number DD #312 I highly recommend these for whatever purpose you want to put them to: EXCEPT dental scaling - because I understand that this type of steel is too hard ... and will damage your mouth. YES!!! Buy THESE: you won't be disappointed with what you get.

So I love these. And while they are technically listed for 'wax carving', that is one of the few things I have actually not used them for. BUT WAIT, you say, WHAT DO YOU USE THEM FOR?? Well I'm so glad you asked! So far I have used them for... -Vinyl weeding. You *could* spend $20 on a special 'Circut' or 'Silhouette' brand set of 'weeding tools' for your vinyl decal projects...but these puppies work just as well (if not better) for a fraction of the price -Teeth cleaning. I'm 57% sure that these aren't intended to be used for dental hygiene purposes, but they look pretty darn close to what my dentist uses, so I've started using these in my own oral care routine and they work fantastic. Upside? I'm a lot nicer to myself than my dentist is. NEVER GOING BACK TO THE DENTIST (well. the jury is still out on this one) -Modelling clay. Pretty similar to wax. Except softer. And more fun colors. -Cake decorating. Again, pretty sure that isn't what these were made for, but they are great for intricate designs in fondant. Sorta like modelling clay. But tastier. -Sewing. I've used several of these picks for various sewing needs...like turning out tiny corners in doll clothes. I know I'm forgetting some because I use one or more of these so frequently its hard to keep track. They are like a set of pointy all-purpose tools for your everyday aspiring dentist/crafty person!
