Is this a usb 3.2 gen 2 10gb/s and if it has nvme why are speeds not faster?

10GB/s speeds are what the USB-C is rated. This SSD is DRAM-less, nvme 3.2 Gen 2 and can read/write 1000 MB/s or approx 1 GB/s which is fast for a portable. Even internals only max out at about 7000 MB/s using PCIE.

Is this compatible with windows 11?

I don't know if it is campatible with Win 11. I used it on Macbook Air; it failed/ got corrupted. After an approximately 75 back and forth with Western Digital customer service (tons of hoops to jump through), they sent me a replacement, and after 4 days it got corrupted too. I learned my lesson. No more WD for me. I wish you luck. Martin

The quick install guide or the software for backup and password protection was not in the pkg. Is it on a website?

Mine did not come with backup software or password protection. I use my devices to do backups. I have two devices on each Mac. One does a Time Machine backup(Mac standard backup software) and one use Carbon Copy backup software. Time Machine does backups throughout the day. Carbon Copy I have set to do when computer is booted up and every 2 weeks I do a Clone backup( a backup you can actually boot from). I'm a big fan of Carbon Copy.
