I've been doing a lot of dehydrating these days and these extra mesh screens help a lot in dehydrating small fruits or messy tomatoes. They've been through the dishwasher and have held up very well. Only issue (not that I care too much, but it might matter to some people) is that when dehydrating tomatoes, the mesh stained pretty easily, but it still holds up and I've no complaints.

I love these things! They are much easier to clean than the trays themselves, and they work great for dehydrating cooked pasta -- and yes, that actually makes sense for backpacking, as it uses significantly less stove fuel to rehydrate dehydrated cooked pasta than it does to cook dry pasta. I've got one for every tray now.

I ordered these by mistake. I wanted the solid disks for making fruit leather - obviously I was not paying enough attention. Rather than return them I decided to use them. I would not have paid that much for the product - they were a bit expensive when I can just use the regular tray, but I do enjoy them. I dried racks of dill. These trays definitely made removal of the dried dill easier because they can be bent/curved and the dried herb drop off easily.

I've a rather vigorous herb garden, and hate them going to waste, so this year I decided to make use of my Nesco dehydrator and use these to dry herbs. They shrink as they dry, so these mesh screens are perfect, and so easy to clean. Just a hint - I dry my herbs whole, with stems, unless the stems are terribly thick. Thyme for instance, is much easier to pull off the tiny dried stalk when dehydrated.
