Is this angled so that there is enough space for my hand between suface and bolts?

Absolutely not! The idea sound great but try to fit it on bolt, most likely it won't fit. There are very little situations that you can use it.

Why should I get this instead of an adjustable wrench?

Adjustable wrenches come loose after time, and can be annoying to adjust precisely. This tool allows you the right fit every time with more points of contact allowing you to get more torque on the nut

I want to order for my husband, should I get the 6" or 8"?

The 8" is our most popular size. It is the size that fits the average male hand well, and it is the size I would recommend. The 6" would be better suited for someone with small hands, or needed for tighter spaces. I am female and I also use the 8" size.

Does it tighten nuts and bolts when you squeeze the handle or do you have to turn the whole wrench? Thanks

One would squeeze the handle which contours the grips to the sides of the nut/bolt. Then, to tighten, one would exert some force in one direction or the other. It sounds to me like you are looking for something that does the work for you, is that accurate? If so, I believe they are known as cordless drills;-)
