Does this gun still make the shooting sound even if you dont load the shells?

Yes, it does. Be careful to put the shells in right. One of my grandson's friends loaded it the wrong way and it got jammed. We were able to get it out but now the gun is broken.

Are the bullets reusable

Yes you can reload them. However, the plastic parts of the gunew don't fit well enough for the parts to slide and function well together. The play bullets get jammed in as well. I wouldn't buy this products again.

How many shells does it hold at one time?

It holds three shells at one time.

My son put the shell in backward and now I can't get it out. Any suggestions?

Don't force the action.if its jamed in the magazine(bottom loading tube)push in on the loading gate(the door on the bottom where the shells go)and see if you can pry the shell out with a small screw driver.if its jamed midway between the magazine and the barrel open the action (dont force it)as much as you can and see if you can carefully pry the shell out while also shaking the gun.I tried to deliberately jam my sons,and that was the only way it would jam up.the shells will only fit in the barrel chamber the correct way.remember,don't force anything and be patient,I believe you can successfully clear it.good luck.
