Char-Broil Gas2Coal 440 Hybrid Grill Gas Barbecue, Black, 61 x 24 x 46 cm

I received the BBQ via Amazon. I downloaded Char-Broil's app on my iPad and proceeded to follow the instructions. The BBQ comes in lots of parts, there is a cardboard/plastic "bubble" containing all the fittings etc. I unpacked the components from the box. You will need a lot of room to spread everything out. Take their advice to use a soft blanket to protect the major parts. I wouldn't say it's easy to follow but now I have done it I think if I did another one it would be a lot easier. Eventually I managed to get most of it built but found I was missing two bolts and two nuts. I went back over the install instructions to see if maybe I'd used them in the incorrect place but they were obviously missing. Also I found a couple of small scratches and dents in the lid. I went onto Char-Broil's web page and followed the "contact us" link, which basically is an email to describe your problem. I did this and later read a negative review on Amazon saying there was no response. In my case this was not the case. I received an automated response saying it was being looked at. Within one hour a lady called Aga contacted me saying she would investigate. She asked me for proof of purchase and some photos of the damage. After providing all this she informed me that a replacement lid and another complete installation "bubble" containing all the fittings would be sent. I received the items exactly one week after my initial contact and all is resolved now. I completed the build and have fired up the BBQ. I haven't had chance to use it fully yet but it is a very sturdy and well made equipment. I'll revisit here to let you know how it goes....

Great BBQ. Heats up really fast and sturdy construction. The charcoal lasts the same time as a normal BBQ - some reviewers have mentioned it burns quickly. I can only assume they didn't read the manual and kept the gas on after the coals had lit. There is no issue with access as one reviewer said - the doors fit on the front, not the back 🤣. The cast iron grill plates are much better than enameled ones, and easier to clean. Storage is provided for the charcoal holders. Taller than other BBQ's I've owned, which is much better to cook on. The only downside to the BBQ is the cost of any accessories you might want to buy.

Recieved the grill 4 days ago, so it is really fresh. I used the Char-Broil App to assemble the grill. Like others said it takes some time to assemble but I found the App mostly useful with the images, although some were a bit misleading. The hardest part was to plug the Gas tube. My recommendation- if you are not technical and good in DIY, pay for the assembly. I used it once since then with coal and it seems to me that the tray is too close to the meat. Also, in the pictuers there are place holes on the righr side shelf meant for hooks to hang the grill tools, which I thought supposed to come with it but I didn't see it. Despit all of that I am satisfied with my purchase.

I’ve waited for the opportunity to use the bbq a few times before reviewing. I’ve not had an opportunity to use coal yet but on gas it is a great piece of kit! Reading the reviews I prepared myself for a challenging build, but actually wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated (took just under 2 hours to build by myself). Had one slight issue but Amazon customer service were very helpful! It is a very sturdy bbq and very well made, I had a Weber previously and would say this is way better! Everything works well and the cast iron grates are fantastic. I had “non-stick” grates on my last bbq and surprised how much better these are!! Amazing how quickly it heats up and stays warm, I purchased the 4 burner and it’s so easy to keep food warm by just keeping one burner on the lowest setting and moving all the food over to one side! One thing that was missing was a place to hang utensils (bbq brush etc). I noticed they do have accessories you can buy but I found some great black metal hooks (see photo), which work perfectly! They needed a little work with a Dremel to fit but work perfectly!! I’ve purchased a smoker box, so my next go will be using coal and trying to do a bit of smoking!

I have been looking for a new BBQ for some time, and this appeared at a price I could not say no to. It was delivered as promised, and with no damage or missing pieces. It takes 2/3 hous to build, and some of it is a bit fiddlely but if you take your time and follow the instructions it is no problem. You can build most of it yourself, but do need a second person at times. I have now had a chance to use it a few times, British summer allowing, and it is easy to use and cook meat really well. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good BBQ.

To start with yes it will like alot of the reviews say take a couple of hours to build but the instructions are good and clear. I love the fact you can use either gas or charcoal and easily switch and it’s easy to clean after as the trays remove and can be tipped out and cleaned alot easier than a normal charcoal bbq. The only downside I would say and it’s not a major is the top rack is quite narrow so you can’t store that much food on here. Overall it’s a great bbq yes you pay abit extra than other bbq’s but is very sturdy and looks great!

Sturdy and perfect gas and charcoal combo. Even possible to light charcoal if you wish. Installation can be tricky - suggest downloading the Char Broil app with step by step photo instructions to make life easier.

Il Char-Broil Gas2Coal 440 è semplicemente eccezionale. La possibilità di passare da gas a carbone in pochi secondi è un’idea geniale: pratica, veloce e senza complicazioni. La struttura è solida, il design elegante e i materiali trasmettono qualità. Il calore è uniforme, la cottura precisa e la pulizia sorprendentemente semplice per un barbecue di queste dimensioni. Perfetto per chi ama la comodità del gas ma non vuole rinunciare al gusto autentico del carbone. Un acquisto davvero top per gli amanti delle grigliate serie!

Si vous suivez le mode d'emploi, le montage est long mais facile. Etant minutieux, j'ai mis 1h30-2h00 environ. Pour certaines étapes, il est préférable d'être à deux. En utilisation, le barbecue répond pleinement à mes attentes. Le lancement d'une cuisson au charbon est très rapide avec le gaz. Je pose le charbon, j'allume le gaz+feu et je ferme le couvercle; Dès que la température atteint 250°, je coupe le gaz. C'est extrêmement rapide et on redécouvre la cuisson au barbecue. Je l'utilise également en mode plancha 100% gaz. C'est vraiment top de pouvoir cuire des légumes ou poissons rapidement. Le barbecue en lui-même est de bonne qualité. Je suis vraiment satisfait de cet achat. Top !!

Yes bon bbq avec 2 systèmes d'énergie. Un petit bémol, les cuves pour recevoir le charbon ne sont pas assez profondes. Les aliments se retrouvent un peu trop près du charbon
