I'll update this is it breaks. Works fine Automatically turns on when your camera turns on. So what this means... Most people wire their aftermarket backup camera to your reverse lights. So you normally have a power on your deck to switch when you go into reverse. This just needs the video cable and constant 12v. Turns off when it doesn't get a signal. Sure you can wire it so it turns on when your lights turn on. Also YES this is an old TFT style monitor so at certain angles the picture will be darker. The description does say it's a TFT. Don't be mad if you don't mount it right the first time. Make sure you can see the screen before you pull the shedding

Product was much better than I expected,installed it on the dash of a grand Cherokee srt and it looks great

Nice and compact design. Looks better than expected. Quite small, but that means I can shove it in the glove box when not in use. I didn't wire it up to the reverse light. The camera is wired to the tail lights so I can use it as a sort of rear-view mirror for the trailer, so I just put a cigarette lighter end on the screen power connector.
