My mom is older and needs something for quick cleanups in her carpeted apartment. Will this work?

This does work on carpet but it depends on the nap. I have very low indoor outdoor carpeting and it works fine on the carpet but there is nearly no nap at all on my carpet. I have an area rug that is a bit taller with the nap and it sucks up the cat hair on it. I realize I am late to the party on this but if you want to get it and are in the position to return it if it doesn't work I would grab it. I also have porcelain tile in the kitchen and bathroom like I did when I lived in Morocco and it works fine on that as well.

Does this vacuum up hair efficiently?
