Don't waste your money. Once again a useless book written by business/marketing guys. Don't bother. A preface of 50 pages alone should have been enough of a warning. Buy Antony Lewis "The Basics of Bitcoins and Blockchains" instead.

本書のキーメッセージは以下の通りである。 1. 「情報のインターネット」はブロックチェーン技術により「価値のインターネット」に進化する。 2. 現在のインターネットは多くのベネフィットをもたらしたが副作用も多かった（格差が拡大し富と権力が一層偏在化、巨大ネット事業者によるユーザを囲い込み、個人が発信したデータで企業が金儲け、イスラミック・ステートの台頭やサイバー攻撃の日常化、等々）。 3. 次世代の「価値のインターネット」では真実と信頼が担保され、格差が縮小し、皆が繁栄する世界を実現できる可能性がある。さらに自身に関するデータの所有権を維持しながらネット利用とプライバシ保護を両立できる可能性もある。 4. 現在のインターネットの轍を踏まず、次世代インターネットの光の面の可能性を最大限実現するためには、影の面に導く阻害要因などを直視して克服する必要がある。そのために広範なステークホルダが協力して新たなリーダシップを確立するとともにガバナンスの仕組みを確立することが急務である。 本書は3部から構成されており、1部の1章に著者の主張は集約されている。1部の2章と2部（3章～9章）はインターネットの現状評価とブロックチェーンがもたらす光の面の可能性を論じている。3部の10章では影の面に導く阻害要因など10点を論じている。最後の11章では新たなリーダシップとガバナンスの仕組みの必要性を論じている。 5月21日に入手して全部を読んだ訳ではないが、ようやく本書の全体像を把握できた。インターネットが今後どう変わり、社会・経済・産業・生活がどう変わっていくかを考えるための必読書であると考える。特に印象に残ったのは以下の3点である。 1. 4章で「工業時代の組織構造（垂直統合・中央集権・ピラミッド型階層構造・人材囲い込み）が何故必然だったか」が解明され「次世代インターネットにより工業時代の組織構造は必然でなくなり外部との境界を戦略的に選択可能なネットワーク型組織の方向に進む」と説明されている。 2. 5章でブロックチェーンが可能にするビジネスモデルの4類型が明らかにされ、その一つであるOpen Networked Enterprisesについて7つのビジネスモデルが提示されている。 3. 1章で共有型経済について「UberやAirbnb等は共有型経済と呼ぶに値しない。実態は需要と遊休資産/能力の供給とのアグリゲーションとマッチングで、マネタイズの肝は集積データとソフトウェア。ブロックチェーン上で作り直せばUber等を中抜き可能」と指摘している。 なお以下の情報を参考にした。 1. 本書に関する著者の講演動画 […] 2. 上記講演のプレゼン資料 […] 3. 本書に関する著者インタビュー記事 […]

Allora, un ottimo volume in lingua inglese, molto ampio e dettagliato, spiega quello che potete trovare in una 80 di pagine altrove in circa 400 pagine. Se avete bisogno di approfondire molto l'argomento è consigliabile la lettura di questo volume.

The blockchain will be the next web - the Internet of value - which has the potential to change the world. “Blockchain revolution” is the bible of this change. While not an easy read for gate professionals, it is a comprehensive guide for exploring the impact and applications of the blockchain.

It's a nice read. The author has done a good job cultivating the blockchain status quo and future aspirations. However, the book's second half can benefit from some trimming; there are some repetitions of ideas and too much wordy text. I also wish the book could be extended to include cyber-attacks in the crypto field, some drilling on crypto legalities, and a roadmap for friendly legal ways for crypto startup founders, as I am sure many of them have read this book. After all, I shouldn't expect that one book to cover it all, but these are suggestions. Thanks.
