Nutricost N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) 600mg, 180 Capsules - Non-GMO, Gluten Free

NAC should be used for liver repair, poison control, skin health etc. It used to be presciption only - it is that effective. You should also know the following: 1) It blunts or flattens the effect of alcohol, or *any* drug. Don't waste a good glass of wine by taking NAC prior, you will not experience any pleasure from your wine, it will be "flat". Skip it if you plan to socialize with friends over dinner / a glass. 2) Do NOT ever take immediately after alcohol because the combination "reverses" on you and NAC becomes toxic to liver. This is a well studied/ documented fact. 3) NAC modulates dopamine, glutamate, serotonin in the brain so there is never a spike. Many benefits BUT it is not selective - it will flatten your mood all around. Things you normally do for fun can seem a bit "blah". 4) That said, it is a great addiction killer, but, just like GLP 1's take all the fun out of eating, and everything else, NAC does the same thing. It dampens everything ( any form of addiction) which causes you to lose interest in ____________________ ( fill in your crutch of choice). Is it worth it? Of course. Your body and liver will repair and regenerate. Take it off and on to cut the chains off, then go back to enjoying life much healthier.

Another great supplement from Nutricost. The quality is always consistent, capsules are easy to take, and the 600mg dosage is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate that it’s non-GMO and gluten free, and the 180-count bottle gives great value for the price. One other study assessing mitochondrial structure of liver tissue in alcoholic rodents found that administration of NAC seemed to prevent the hormetic response to alcohol while not necessarily preventing other forms of damage to mitochondria; this observation occurred alongside the standard reduction in oxidative damage. For Nicotine Addiction. In one study, subjects addicted to nicotine given 2,400mg N-acetylcysteine for four weeks relative to placebo, supplementation tended to reduce the frequency of cigarettes smoked after two weeks of supplementation. I’ve been taking these NAC capsules for a few weeks now and have noticed a subtle but steady improvement in my overall respiratory health and daily energy levels. Nutricost consistently delivers great value, and I appreciate that these are vegetarian, non-GMO, and gluten-free. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the strong, sulfur-like smell when you open the bottle—which is completely normal for high-quality NAC, but still a bit unpleasant to deal with each morning. Overall, it’s an excellent, budget-friendly choice that does exactly what it’s supposed to do!

I bought this product based on reviews. My child has PWS and over the years we have tried different brands of NAC with varying degrees of success. Due to an increase in skin picking over the past year, my son’s psychiatrist recommended trying NAC again at a higher dosage. Once we titrated up to his recommended dose, I noticed a decrease in skin picking almost immediately. I can’t tell you how much relief this gave both my son and I. He has been on this product for about four months, and he rarely skin picks unless he is extremely anxious or very bored. The pill itself is large however, my 11 year-old has no problem swallowing it. I am so thankful for this product and often recommend it to other families suffering from PWS. I plan to keep my son on this indefinitely.

Been taking this since December 30th, 2025 and I was skeptical about this at first but It has proven itself to me as I do notice a positive change from this, enough that when I miss a day I can tell. I seem to have less brain fog and can stay focused on current tasks instead of jumping from task to task and not competing the previous task. My OCD tendencies have lessened significantly since taking it but I do still have urges. I feel as if I have more energy than before starting this as I get decent sleep during the night since it helps take the brain fog away. They do smell slightly unpleasant but don’t seem to have a taste. I must admit when I got recommended this my first thought was great another medication to add to my system that won’t benefit me. I was wrong, a natural supplement we already have and get from proteins we eat daily. 10/10 recommend

A simple good all around version of NAC supplementation, I most combine this as a detox/nootropic, but the digestive support has been nice as well. Some lowering of inflammation but its a good budget supply of NAC. Predictable and efficient as it needs to be. I also notice the smell is not as strong which can be a plus for some folks.
